I don't know where to stay. Right now I have booked the 14th floor one bedroom suite at CR. I am seriously considering changing to Poly. I have not stayed at Poly. I have stayed 12th floor CR. Now, if I switch to Poly should I stay GV or LV. We will be staying concierge. We will have to get two rooms my mother is going with us. She uses an ECV. I know that the distance from the room to monorail is very short at CR is the distance long at Poly? That is the one thing I am worried about.

It's a difficult trek from the Monorail to the Polynesian Concierge. The Hawaii building is also disconnected from the main lodge. If it's raining or inclimate weather, your mom's going to feel it. My mom has the same concerns, too.

I think based on convenience alone, the CR is better.

We usually choose the Polynesian simply because we love it.

We love the Poly and have stayed LVC twice...that being said, with an ECV CR would probably make more sense, both for location/ease of getting to the monorail/restaurants as well as for the weather factor (from Hawaii, you can cut thru Samoa and Niue to reach the Ceremonial House if it is raining, but even that route is not completely under cover). Now, if hanging by the pool is important, Poly wins hands down, IMO. I have heard terrific things about the CR 14th floor views and concierge service....maybe stay there this trip with your mother and book the Poly on your next trip? Either way, hope you have a magical stay!

All I can say is that I've stayed MK view at the CR 14th Fl, and LV CL at the PR, and the PR view is MUCH better. (Even though I could see my house--OK, the lights from my neighborhood LOL!-- from the CR and not from the PR.)

The POLY food and lounge at concierge is by far nicer IMHO and is the best according to many CMs. The food is abundant there is lots of space in the lounge. Check out tikimans site for pics of POLY lounge. We loved it and have been there twice! also remember at CR you will ride the monorail all the way around with the TTC people away from MK to get there or have to wheel all the way down the side walk- POLY you hop the monorail and 2 stops and you are there I hated riding away from MK for 20 minutes to get there and being out in the heat to walk frustrated me POLY all the way!

i'm so happy to hear this!!!! we are going for my husband's 30th birthday in 23 days :hourglass one question i have is can you actually hear wishes from the concierge lounge? that would be beyond cool if we could. :cool1:

You can hear wishes but its soft and scratchy - you can also hear it great at ohana's and on the beach and near the dock walk around the beach near the pool and dock to find the best place- behind the pool at the dock I heard it best.

We stayed Poly LVC with my mom in an ECV. In an ECV, it doesn't matter how far it is to the monorail--it's a pretty short ride at either resort! It's not like it's hard work to ride in the ECV, LOL. (now in the crowds in the parks is another story, LOL)

The monorail loads on the second floor of course, so you have to take an elevator up one floor at the Poly of course. But, it's pretty easy and smooth sailing. The Hawaii (concierge) building at the Poly is very close to the GCH and the monorail.

Stay at whichever resort appeals to you. The ECV won't be an issue. In fact, since the Poly rooms are bigger (if I recall correctly) then parking the ECV in the room will be easier at the Poly.
