Poly check in today...

I'm sitting in the new lobby, love it, don't miss the old one at all, and I started coming to the Polynesian June of 72.

All construction is done from what I can see, staying in Fiji with a beach/lagoon view, new room refurb is great.

Quiet pool refurb is outstanding, and I'm glad they are requiring resort magic band to use both pools.

I personally love the new Poly, not that I dislike the old one, just the new one is great.

Thank you for posting! Finally pulled DH away from Epcot resorts and staying Poly in November. So excited!! Hope you have a magical vacation!!!

I really love the new lobby too, and the main pool area is awesome. I haven't seen the oasis pool in person yet, but the pics I have seen are gorgeous!!!

We are planning a stay there in August 2017!! Can't wait!! Enjoy your stay!!

Quick update :

Captain Cooks is a mess, they now have you ordering and paying at the registers, they are all backed up. No idea why they changed it.

Walk through metal detectors after bag check in parks, it looks like they are doing random screenings.

Resort monorail has been down off and on for 2 days, cast member said it's a communication issue, so the boats are crazy packed and wait time is substantial.

They really need to work out their problems with the monorails. Seems like I'm hearing a lot of these type things lately.

They've been having problems with the monorails for many years. They should have replaced those things years ago with new, modern monorails. But god knows that would cost a fortunate and not increase revenue one bit so that ain't happening any time soon.

How early can you check-in at the resort? we are leaving Universal resort and driving to Poly that morning and have a 9:30 breakfast at Kona. can we check-in first or after?

Thanks for the report! We are staying at the poly for the first time March 2017...Finally managed to convince hubby to stay here. He's never really liked the whole island theme but I guess I pestered him enough about it that he just gave in, LOL. Can't wait to stay here! Does anyone know if Poly has an Arcade? I know Contemporary does so if it doesn't we can just jump (hopefully) on the monorail to go to the Contemporary's Arcade, LOL...My oldest DS likes to visit an arcade for some down time when we aren't at the parks, lol

So sorry everyone, I didn't mean to sound negative, just my perspective. So far our stay has been fantastic, you are all going to love the "new" Poly.

We actually checked in very early, our flight got in late Wednesday night so we stayed at the Hyatt inside MCO and took Magical Express Thursday morning around 7am. They checked us in but our room wasn't ready until 1pm.

Now sitting in the GCH people watching, place is jumpin.

Trader Sam's has live music outside... Very cool
