Well I thought I had it all figured out to stay CL at AKL for our trip (9-29 to 10-6) but now I am reading up on all the other options we have being a party of 5 and I am not so sure!
I wanted to get a price on the new Poly bungalows for that time frame but nothing comes up on the Disney website, it doesn't list them at all, even looking in the DVC section.
Am I missing something?

From my understanding it is hard to get them on a dollar reservation as they are almost always booked on points.

But yeah, you are correct. They don't show up online, so that is different than other sold out properties. They show up, even if sold out.
So to answer the question, I do believe you have to call

Thank you for taking the time to reply!
I should just stay put at AKL.. With Gary being a zookeeper, he probably would veto any other resort anyway! LOL

If you call and any are available, make sure you're sitting down...... every price I've seen for those bungalows is over $2000 per night!!! Granted, there are those who can afford them, but I would not pay that to stay in one and listen to the ferry boats until late at night, and bright and early in the morning. The route that ferries take is only about 100 yards, or less, from the bungalows.

Just my $.02 worth.......

Yeah, the price is scary but if you can handle the splurge, it could be fun for 1 night. We sleep with ear plugs so even ferry horns would be nothing for us.

Though if I was going to splurge for something at Disney I think I may opt for a suite vs. a bungalow. But man are they nice. I love the soak tub on the balcony

We don't mind the cost.. but the noise factor I would imagine may be a factor.
Thank you for that information!!

We haven't been in a bungalow but did stay in the room block that was switched over to DVC studios. Yes the horns go off but it wasn't that big of a deal for my group. We are late sleepers and I sleep with ear plugs (fiance snores) so it was no big deal.

You can also request a bungalow further away from the docks but of course there is no guarantee you will get them that.

Right now we are doing 2br CL akl.. if we switch it will be for the entire trip.
The more I think about it, we should just probably stay where we are.
Thank you!

I know we sure did love our CL stay at AKL last year. I'm not sure I'd give that up even for a Poly Bungalow

I have been in the bungalows and they are exquisite!!! They would be perfect for 5 If the price is not a concern I would definitely call and inquire. DebbieB is correct. Only 10 of 20 have been declared into DVC Inventory, leaving 10 per night available for cash. But it may be early.
Good luck

Let us know what you decide to do! I'd pick the bungalows in a heartbeat because we love the location of the poly and the bungalows are sooooo nice!!! But we've never stayed at AKL, so I can't compare!

Thanks, everyone!! I am planning on calling tonight!
:flower2:
I will not be back on here until Monday, though. (I only log on from work!)

Are they releasing bungalows for online cash reservations earlier than 60 days now? Because I just reserved one for Sept. 19-25 of this year and was shocked to even see it come up as an option.

Actually the bungalows show up online when there is availability. The lowest price I have seen recently is $2341.00 per weekday night and a high of $2550.00 per weekend night for select Nov. nights. Try a Nov. 2-8 search tonight ( a recent cancelation ).

The highest rates are for Dec. 3007.00 beginning on Dec. 11 and rates of 3659.00 for Dec. 22 through Dec. 31, 2016.

The bungalow price for Sept. 26 - Oct. 6 would be $2430.00 per night if available.
