Hi.

If I book the Poly for next month, is it correct the hotel portion will be closed?
This is fine for me, but will there be construction going on?
What, if anything, food wise is open?

Can I walk to the TTC from Poly, meaning are the monorails running so I can get to the MK and Epcot? I've done the walk many times so that doesn't matter just not sure if it's monorails or just bus.

From my understanding, Kona Cafe, Captain Cook's, and the Pineapple Lanai will remain open. The Epcot monorail isn't running at this time. You can walk to the TTC to catch the monorail to the MK, and the other MK resorts. Buses will be running to all the parks. No Poly ferry to the MK at this time. I don't know if construction will end up affecting any of these things, but the uncertainty regarding that has prompted my decision to switch my January Poly reservation to CCV. If I could be assured none of what is operating now will be affected I would have kept the reservation.

Thank you. I want to be able to walk or take a monorail to a park. I will keep looking. I appreciate your taking the time to respond.

So, no monorail to Epcot. Maybe I try to book BWVs And walk there.

I meant to say I switched my January Poly reservation to CCV. We're staying at BRV in October. Good luck with whatever you choose!

I REALLY appreciated your answering me yesterday. I ended up booking BWVs and ended up getting a one bedroom and didnt book Poly based on what you said. Thanks so much. Enjoy your trip. We booked for September 15 since we wanted to go with crowds so low lol

That's awesome! I gave up my BWV garden view studio for the Poly studio, and so far I haven't been able to get it back, so went with CCV. Have a great time, and September 15th is my birthday!

wonder if hubby and I will be alone on the Poly beach eating a Dole whip? We swapped our CCV to Poly studio 2 weeks ago before this monorail closure announcement. I think it really will be a relaxing vibe at the resort! Enjoy your trips everyone stay safe and healthy!!!

I'm so torn about keeping or switching my Poly res. Thankful that I am seeing several options, but it makes it more confusing!

Seriously considering a switch to BLT. We were going to walk to MK from Poly anyway (!!!), but no monorail to Epcot kind of sucks and I'm mostly worried about any other closures / inconveniences that may happen with construction.

Ugh. So hard!

I am booked in for 3 nights standard studio starting September 16th. Very torn about the stay. I have never stayed at the Poly. I was looking forward to Trader Sam's, the monorail to the other resorts/MK, and the pool. Now it seems like maybe just the pool will be open? I am doing a split stay with 2 nights at the Riviera (also new to me). Now I am wondering if I should try to switch resorts?

i have been digging around everywhere trying to figure this out. We are trying to do a march trip (third time is a charm! It will be the one year anniversary of our first canceled trip of 2020 :( )
the dvc site let me book the days but I was really skeptical because it was so easy to book. then i saw this :

which makes me think that im not going to be able to stay there?
im so confused.

I will say that if you've never stayed at the Poly before, you might not love this as your first experience. If it were today (before the monorail stops service and before the construction starts at the Great Ceremonial house), I'd say "Go for it" because the feedback from other DVC members who have stayed on site since the reopening has been really positive. However, I would be worried that you'd have a sub-par stay without all of the bonuses of being near the monorail and the potential disruption of construction. I'm planning a trip next year with two of my sorority sisters who have not stayed at the Poly and we're going to likely stay elsewhere for this very reason. As for me, I've been staying at the Poly since 1982 so none of this bothers me and I look forward to staying regardless of the construction, but that's because I know what I'll be missing and have had many chances to do all the things that might be disrupted while I'm there. Good luck....and Aloha!

Note that this also means restaurants may remain closed. I don't expect to see either 'Ohana or Trader Sam's open for a while.

We were at VGF over the weekend and walked over to Poly one night for Dole Whips and the resort was hopping. It looks WAY busier than VGF did. The pool area was busy, there was a line for Dole Whips, shops were open. If you are going 9/16 the monorail issue shouldn't impact you for your stay. Trader Sam's isn't open but I believe you'll be fine.

We have a stay the weekend before Thanksgiving booked and just put another studio on wait list there for my mom and sister in law and kids to come. Anyone think that because of the monorail announcement more people will actually want to cancel their bookings instead of sticking it out??? I'm hoping we can grab another studio. The monorail perk doesn't phase us much since we'll just walk over to TTC.

Just FYI, even at TTC, you cannot get the monorail to Epcot. You will need a bus.
