What time is best to arrive at Poly to view Wishes and the Water Pageant?

You should get to the Poly an hour-ish early. Please be considerate of those who are paying to be at the Poly I.e. not using the pool. The best practice is to go to dinner there even if it is at the quick service location in order to have a reason to be there. Even grabbing a dole whip is a great option. I've done it server so times as a non-Poly guest but always have either had dinner there or grab a dole whip before going out to the beach.

It depends on what kind of a place you want to get. If you want one of the chairs on the beach, then you'll need to get there early. If you don't mind standing or sitting on the edge of the path, I think you can get there a little later. I was there in early March and got to the beach about 30 minutes before the show. The chairs were filled, but there were places on the path curb to sit.

Given that you're staying at the All Stars, it'll be easiest to either take a taxi directly to the Poly or take the bus to the MK and then the monorail to the Poly.

The Poly has a pretty "straight" on view, but further away than the GF or CR.

We were just there this past week. My son and I arrived at the beach about 10 minutes before the water parade and there were still chairs available. We shared a chair (he is 5, so he sat on my lap). We sat on the beach a bit away from the pool area - it was less crowded on that end. You can also sit right on the beach.

If you haven't made plans for dinner yet, Kona and the QS place are very good. Poly also has a great lounge. Although we were able to grab a beach chair right before the show, the Poly is so much fun just to walk around, so you may want to go early and enjoy the resort a little before the shows!

Generally, getting there 15 minutes early will be enough time. However, as pp shows it can be quite variable so no guarantees. One tip, the closer you get to the water the poorer the sound. There are good speakers main pool and in front of Hawaii. Stay near the walkway because the speakers in front of Hawaii are across the walkway and the soud deteriorates as you go toward the beach.

Another tip, stay on the walkway and on the the beach. On the grass tends to get too close to the rooms and does intrude on first floor guests.

I've seen reports of them only allowing beach access to Poly guests during the busiest weeks - and July 9th may fall into that timeframe with it being so close to the 4th of July. You might want to ask on the Poly thread, frequent guests there may know the answer for sure!

That can happen and July 4th is one day that can happen, but not always. Similarly it can happen over Christmas week. But it's quite rare. For those periods its much more likely that the Poly parking lot will go into a lockdown and be open only to Poly guests and that includes valet. For July 9th I wouldn't worry at all, not all that busy a time.

We did this couple weeks ago. I wanted to see what the big deal was. We had dinner at narccoosseess (sp?) around 7:30. Watched elctric light parade. Meandered on over to the poly beach. Stood in that beach area in front of volcano pool. We got there one minute before it began and saw it fine. Probably wouldn't bother with it again.

Do they stream the music in on the beach like they do at Cali Grill?

Yes they do but only on the main beach and pool area I believe. Never tried to go to the the other parts of the beach so no clue if it is all over or just in the direct middle.
