After eating at 'Ohanas is it ok to view the fireworks from the beach?
We would not do it if it is not allowed. I've read where people do this and some say it is not allowed if your not a guest at the resort which I understand and is okay with us.

Oh ya? Now what if we want to swim in the cool pool they have there!! Ha!

The beach has signs saying it is for the exclusive use of Poly guests... having said that, if you are not using the hammocks or lawn chairs (or using the first floor room patios  ) I think it is perfectly acceptable to watch the fireworks or EWP after your dinner at Ohana.

There are differing opinions on this! so put on your seatbelt ~ it's going to be a bumpy ride. :p

No one in all of my trips to disney has ever questioned me being anywhere. I'm being honest here. If you are on the beach at the poly in a hammock or anywhere no-one would even think of asking you for ID. We always go and visit every hotel regardless of where we are staying and enjoy what they have to offer. So if you want to see the fireworks at the poly after a nice dinner at Ohana go and enjoy. Take a nice walk over to the GF also and check that out.

There were a couple of reports of people being asked to leave the Polyneisan Beach before the fireworks earlier this month.

There is a sign stating that the beach is for the exclusive use of Polynesian guests. That said, if there aren't that many people around, then it's not an issue and no one will say anything. But if it's during a peak fireworks time, such as July 4th or NYE, chances are that you'll be asked to leave if you aren't a guest of the Polynesian.

They have definitely been asking people for room cards at the pool and asking people to leave when they weren't guests of the Polynesian. I wouldn't waste my vacation time "hopping" over there only to be asked to leave.

Actually, we stayed there over the 4th. The beach was packed with non-resort guests. I never saw anyone asked to leave.

They didn't check resort ID's at the pool, either. There were quite a few locals and offsite people there that had come over from MK with their swimsuits. We even saw some swimming in shorts/t-shirts.

Gepetto--I'm not at all doubting what you saw or didn't see. But there was at least one, if not two other posters who reported seeing people asked to leave the beach and pool area during their visit at the same time.

Maybe they were in a different area of the beach, and swimming at different times than you?

We were one of those guests staying at the Poly over 4th of July. We returned back to the Poly around 8pm on the 4th. There was a line of cars trying to get into the Poly. When we walked down to the beach there were Cms and security checking ID and trying to explain why people were not to be there if they were not staying at the Poly. Needless to say, they didn't seem to want to understand. Therefore, we, who were staying there did not have a chair, we sat on our own beach towels on the grass hill. It was quite packed. There was a woman sitting near us complaining that her husband was trying to come in to the Poly and was turned away at the security entrance. We were there last year on the 4th also, and during the day someone came around at the pool checking if those there were guests.

We were by the pool. There were huge crowds coming off the boats and monorail. I never saw one person asked for an ID. Security made no attempt to stop people from dragging all the pool chairs and huge stacks of towels onto the beach. They didn't even stop the people taking chairs from the guest's patios. The only problem with the big crowd was the mess they left on the beach but it was cleaned up by morning.

As for using the pool...I doubt they will be checking id's unless it's very crowded.

Thanks everyone, I think I'll see how things are after dinner. I was joking about the pool I'd never swim at another resort.
I think that is just down right rude and people should know better.

We were there also on the 4th for about 5 hrs. at the main pool and we saw people asked to leave. I felt sorry for the kids. We also spoke to 2 tables of locals one that we saw last year and neither were asked to see I.D. I wonder if they knew someone at the resort.
