I want to say how much help this site has been to me over the years!! WONDERFUL! My family will be going on our 4th Disney cruise on Feb 12th and SOOO excited! I just recently joined and not sure how to do a poll. I would be curious to see what everones economic statis is...not to personal, but maybe $15,000 to 29'000 a year, 30,000 to 49,000, and 50,000 and up. And then state how many Disney Cruises you have been on and the party size. I know Disney Cruises can be expensive and they are expensive for us but every year me and DH take our tax return and take our 3 boys on a Disney Cruise. We are the middle income bracket. Some of our friends don't see how we can afford it but I think it is all about what you put importancy on in your life. Children are only young for such a short time and I love all the memories we have made w/ DCL. How many others can barely afford it, but manage it for the sake of themselves or their kids?

this is how i save for my trip:

1. save in my ING Direct Savings account
2. coin jar - this pays for all the suggested amount for tips
3. use my citibank american aadvantage card and earn free tickets
4. sell things on ebay

love to hear how others save...maybe i can add it to my list!

When you consider how much you actually pay to take the family to WDW for a week, stay at a deluxe resort, and spend all that money on food etc....DCL isn't THAT expensive.

Anyone who places a high value on a fun family vacation has the right philosophy!

I sell on ebay. I've paid for 1 college education, 3 cruises, 2 airline tickets, 1 resort-type vacation (Las Vegas) and many, many hotel rooms!

I was surprised that our Disney Cruise was not that crazy in price in comparison to our other vacations. We just spent 4 nights on the Wonder with 1 night in Buffalo before our flight, 2 nights in a suite at the Radisson before our cruise and 1 night in a suite at the Radisson after our cruise. We used limo transportation to and from the Radisson to the airport. We also did the 2 most expensive excursions - the Dolphin Encounter and the parasailing and then we added the Castaway Cay getaway package as well. So for the 6 of us (DH, myself and DD's 13, 11, 9, 6) our total cost was around $7000 (tips and souveniers and flights also included.)

We are in the upper income bracket you have listed but the money we spend on vacation comes from the Child Tax Credit we recieve here in Canada. It gets direct deposited into a seperate account - at a diffenent bank from our other accounts. It is so nice to just pay for everything out of that account because you never see go in or out and it does not affect your every day spending.

This was our first cruise - loved it. But in the past 3 years we have spent a week all inclusive in St. Maarten, 10 days at Disney and 2 weeks in Europe.

We really like to travel and it is a priority for our family - as someone said the kids are only young once and it is not long before they are grown up and gone.

We paid for our entire trip ( 3 days at the AK Lodge, 4 day cruise and airfare tickets) all through ebay! :) There are 4 of us traveling this time!

Maybe I am not that bright. Sell what on ebay?

Anything and everything from the sound of it. You can make a decent salary if you do this full time and know what to sell.
