I question whether this whole thread should be posted.

That's my pet peeve.
This thread may entice pet peeve seekers. This thread is fine for advanced sailors. This is not advisivable reading for newbies. All these issues can be debated to death, yet once aboard they are irrelevant IMO. As most are once boarded.
These peeves worry newbies... BTW, no worry newbies.
This thread may also only encourage peeves. EEK. We don't need that. lol.
No flames please. Remember the thread, ... pet peeves. lol.
I'm a bit concerned for the newbie reading all this detailed data that generally is not applicaple. Now the newbie will notice irrelevant items/instances that previously they may not have.
Point is, there is a time to sail, a time to plan, and a time to obsess.
There is a lot to say for sailing blind. Some of our most memomarable sails where blind, unplanned, not researchd to death. ... a Visa Moment.
So... I suggest research all you want, but keep an open mind knowing each ship and sailing is different. Each sailing offers a different experince. There is no way to predict the outcome of any sailing reardless of vessel. And I hope all the readers realize this and plan accordingly. That's half the magic.
We had some of our best experiences sailing w/o any research. Point is if you like a surprise, or the unexpected, stop reading these threads.
Having said that, I wish you all a Happy Sailling, and may you have calm seas.
