I would like to be able to get Premium/platinum plans if I choose to. Anyone else? Please vote and or comment.

These plans are not really discounts they cost around $169/$229 per person per night. Plus theme park ticket cost.

Besides all the meals on the DDP you get tours and recreation as follows.

Premium You also receive:

•--Unlimited use of selected recreation, including golf, guided fishing excursions, water sports, tennis and more
•--Admission to Cirque du Soleil show, La Nouba
•-- Portrait session and print package from Disney's PhotoPass Professional Portraits service
•--Unlimited admission to Disney's Children's Activity Centers
•--Unlimited Admission to certain Theme Park tours: Family Magic, Keys to the Kingdom, The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains, Mickey's Magical Milestones, Behind the Seeds, Around the World at Epcot, Simply Segway Experience, The "UnDISCOVERed" Future World, Gardens of the World, Yuletide Fantasy (seasonal) Backstage Safari, Wild by Design, Disney's Wilderness Back Trail Adventure (Segway tour at Fort Wilderness)
•--Admission to Grand Gathering Experiences, if you have eight or more in your party. Each experience is operated on select days of the week. Valid Theme Park admission is required. At least eight persons in your party must attend the same experience. Exchange one meal included in your Magic Your Way Premium Package. For more info on Grand Gatherings, click HERE.
•--Access to Preferred Viewing Areas for: Wishes at Magic Kingdom and IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot. One view per Theme Park, advance reservations required at least 24 hours in advance and voucher required, subject to availability, certain block-out dates apply. Magic Your Way Premium Package guests can make reservations up to 90 days prior to requested viewing date by calling

Platinumoffers everything in the premium package, then adds more such as: pre-arrival planning service, a specialty fireworks cruise, reserved seating at Fantasmic!, selected spa treatment per guest (age restrictions apply), additional dining options, such as the renowned Victoria & Albert's restaurant, room service, and more.

Both plans you have to also purchase themepark tickets for the parks.

Not sure what you mean, please provide a little info on the Premium/platinum plans.

I can't see how anything more than the DxDP is necessary. We already get discounts on some of the others stuff.

We usually go for an extended stay, so that price point would be more than we would want to spend. If we go for 14 days it would be (at your least expensive option) $2,366.00 per person in addition to our park passes. Definitely not worth it for us.

We usually also go for more days than I would want to be on this plan. I would do this plan in a segmented trip as some do the dining plan (not have it for the entire weeek) or For just a few days on a trip.

I would love to take some of the tours and try the recreation offered on this plan. Guess I will have to do a non-DVC trip to take advantage of the plans.

We get good discounts on most of the special tours and have access to the dining plans, so I don't see what more we need.

Yes...especially as my kids get older. It would great to hand them a KTTW card and they can go off do whatever like mini golf, rent boats, sammy duvall etc.

Nah, I like leaving without a bill at all. Including what I pay when I check in.

The more of these that are booked, the more difficult it will be for people not on the plan to get any of these special bookings.

My actual vote would be "I see no need to add any dining packages to my stay."

I don't see that ever happening, since in addition to buying park tickets, the payment of rack rate for your room is required to add the Platinum/Premium plans to a reservation.

As for me - no, no interest in Platinum/Premium or even Dining Plans at all.

I tried to add the premium dining plan to our last stay. I couldn't believe that DVC members could not add those plans - I just assumed that we could. I sent an email to MS asking about why we couldn't add them. A CM from the executive DVC office called me a few days later to let me know that they are discussing the option of letting DVC members book those plans for their stays. I don't know if this will ever happen, but the CM at the executive office said that they get the request for adding the plans from lots of members.

I would not get it BUT

as a DVC owner I think WE should be offered EVERYTHING that everyone else can get and THEN SOME. I understand that we get a "break" on the cost of our room, but look at our initial investment that Disney is getting and reinvesting. We have made a COMMITMENT to return to Disney year after year.

I would love to be able to book the platinum or premium plans with a DVC stay. Now way I would do it for more than a few nights tho. To make it worth while you would need to be doing several activities everyday. That would get tiring after not too long.

I see what you're saying now. Still, we would not get it. The dining plans don't interest us (we use the Tables in Wonderland card), and we have done many of the tours (always with a discount).

I understand people that want the dining plans, they just don't fit in with the way DH and I dine. Lots of Signature dinners w/wine, but not much else.

WDW dining has gotten so bad over the past several years, we rarely eat on site anymore. We really used to enjoy the TS restaurants, but the food is just barely edible now. So, in answer to your question, no we wouldn't want any of the plans. If we were looking for those other items, we'd just pay for them OOP.

We have never done a dining plan but this idea appeals to me. I would only like to do it for a few nights (currently the minimum is 3). Of course it would really have to come down to money and if DVC members could purchase I would break down the cost to see if it made sense or not. It certainly isn't something we would do all the time, but I wouldn't mind giving it a try.

I have to agree with you. We now spend a lot more time eating in the villa and going off site to far better restaurants then we currently find at WDW. It used to be the other way around, but food quality has definitely gone downhill at the table service places. There are still a few good ones, but even they have declined in quality the past 4-5 years.

I'm not sure I fit into either option, so I will abstain from voting in this poll. I don't want to give Disney the wrong impression.

To clarify, I would like to see additional dining and recreation offers, but not these two exclusively (as the poll is worded).

I would be interested in entertaining a DDP/park ticket combo (for a single price) to make the visit relatively "all inclusive", especially if it had a few "one use" options for special view areas of fireworks/parades/shows (one or two per person per package to use as desired). It would also be worth purchasing if the DVC packages had tickets for the ice cream events or annual special events (MNSSHP, MVMCP, Pirates & Pricess Party, etc).

Don't really care if they offer it but we would never use it.

I can't believe people actually save any money with these types of packages. I mean, it's not like you can take a tour, play a round of golf see Cirque, eat three elaborate meals and get any sort of value from the theme park tickets all in one day.

I guess there's some value in the reserved sections for shows but even then other options exist like the Wishes dessert party.

If folks are drawn to the prepaid aspect of it, put the money on a debit card or Disney gift card before the trip and use that to charge everything. Bet you have money left over by the end of the trip.

I really like this idea. Especially if its something special for DVC members. Not that i am looking for a big discount, although would be nice, just to get something special. It would be cool to get a 30 minute water mice ride per day or tour a day.

We did the family recreation plan years ago. It was great. A week of water mice, bikes and ponton for one price. Only spent about two days for a couple hrs a day but was nice to play and not pay each time.
