I stayed at 3 different resorts a few weeks ago - the 'old Disney cartoon channel' still comes up near the end of the dial. I hang out at that end as it is where one finds DeutscheWelle and the Japanese channel...

but it only seems to appear at SOME resorts - can't recall which, but I've stayed at about 8 different ones this year so far and sometimes have it, sometimes not

Yes!! In the evenings, I like to have a cocktail and watch a movie to unwind.

We just put on that great disney info channel....I love that host...she's the best...NOT!!! :happytv:

Disney loves to save money. The current TV channels are either Disney owned or free to Disney. I don't see them adding anything that costs them more money. Sports lovers hang out at the ESPN Club to catch up on their favorite teams.

That's pretty much my take. Aside from the cost of providing the channels, time spent in the room is time guests are NOT spending money at the theme parks, restaurants, gift shops, etc.

Personally I'm ambivalent. Sure there are channels I would add if given a choice. But that's one of the things you lose when you're traveling. I don't know that I've ever caught myself cursing a hotel--any hotel--simply because their cable lineup was missing a favorite channel or two.

spend all that money on dvc to order room service and watch tv
I think not

To each their own. It's a place to relax for us and room service and tv sometimes fits the bill. More channels would be nice.

this is one of the only short comings I find with the resorts. My children are still young and tend to go to sleep rather earlier than my wife and I. a few better choices for evening viewing would be wonderful

We do need more TV stations. We tend to be room lizards because we've been there so many times. They carry MSNBC and nobody even watches them. Their ratings are in the toilet. They should carry Fox News and a few others (HGTV).

I wouls like more channels but still votes no. I only watch TV when trying to go to sleep. I nthe morning or during the day I am only watching WDW channels to see WDW news and the weather channel.

But it wouldn't hurt to have more channels.

It's supposed to be a home away from home. I have real TV at home and should expect it in a luxury resort. The choices are pathetic. I'm not a sports fan, and I'm frankly sick of the "all-victimization-all-the-time" Lifetime channel movies. Spousal abuse, cheating husbands, kidnapped children...that's what I call quality family TV...NOT! I very much appreciate the choices at HH as they are beyond the Mouse's reach.

When you vacation numerous time a year, I'd rather have the choices available, then I can choose whether I want to watch TV at all or not. How about a channel that plays full length Disney movies, the old catoon shorts, FoxNews, HGTV, Comedy Central...the more the better.

I say yes to more stations. We usually stay for 2 weeks on property and the kids get tired of the same old stations. I know they really would like to see Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon  They did enjoy the old Disney cartoons at BCV and missed it at SSR.

I would like to see a little more variety, but if they added the History Channel I'm afraid I'd never get DH out of the room!

I could go for TNT and the Speed Channel. At least on Sundays for Nascar races. DS would want the Discovery Channel.

Ah yes, It would be nice to watch a race at "home"!
And the Speed Channel would be good too!:thumbsup2

Voted yes, because I would like to see a channel with Disney movies -- don't always have a DVD player in our rooms. I don't need all the ESPN channels, especially when they don't show the Red Sox! I like the Discovery channel, and even Animal Planet when I'm on vacation late at night!

Hey All!

I too would like better TV choices. While I don't visit WDW primarily to watch TV, late at night, as we settle down, I'd love some better choices to mellow out.

My husband nearly passed out when he realized he couldn't get the Cubs playoff games during our stay at SSR a few weeks ago. It was truly awful for him. I think the games were on TBS or TNT. I remember WDW used to carry WGN from Chicago and I thought a New York station.

I would like to see them put back the local forcast on The Weather Channel. We spent all week trying to figure out if it looked like the rain was close to us or not. They had local forcast while we were there in June, then when we went last week it was on satalite coverage for the nation.:sad1:

I also think they should have had TBS and TNT for the baseball playoffs. Sure glad the Yankees were no longer in it when we went, DH would have KILLED me if we could not have seen the games each night:eek:
