Would you like more TV Channels at DVC?

  • Yes, I need more!

  • No, I don't watch that much TV :)

Disney loves to save money. The current TV channels are either Disney owned or free to Disney. I don't see them adding anything that costs them more money. Sports lovers hang out at the ESPN Club to catch up on their favorite teams.

What they have meets our needs while no vacation. If they added all the channels we have at home, I doubt we'd watch any more TV while on vacation than we do with the current WDW channels.

I want as little of the "outside world" intruding as possible while we're on vacation.

It's a very close poll...I wonder what the gender break down is.

watch enough tv @ home, other than the current Disney promo channels; don't bother...do miss the "old" Disney cartoons:rolleyes1

I can tell we really limit the tv at home. We take the children for a surprise trip to the World and what do they want to do?????? :happytv:

I was a bit frustrated with this myself.......

I voted no. Other than to check the weather, I go to WDW to get away from my normal life, which I hate to say includes too much TV.

I just hope that they fixed that channel that was showing
'All Skelleton All the Time" back in May 2007.

For about 20 hours straight it was a greenish skull and bones on the screen. As if someone stuck in a DVD and pushed pause.

It was funny at first, but, it had no storyline and it kinda dragged, like watching more than 5 seconds of Seinfeld or Friends but better.

Only 2 types TV channels I really want while at WDW are:

1. Disney related channel (cartoons, shows about wdw, etc.)
2. Sports

Since major sporting events seem to be shown on more and more channels, I would really like the DVC resorts to get these channels. But as long as I get ESPN at least, I'm happy. I voted yes by the way because I would be a little disappointed if I missed a big game like the MLB playoffs because the resorts don't get TBS.

I voted yes. Before our last trip a couple weeks ago I probably would have voted no. However, when we arrived late on Friday night (around 11:30) I wanted to relax and see the score of the Red Sox game. Unfortunately, Disney does not offer TBS.

Fortunately, we were staying at BWV and were able to go to ESPN Club and watch Manny Ramirez's walk-off home run to win it for Boston which was very exciting and the bar went crazy.

In the end it all worked out, but trying to see a playoff baseball score also doesn't mean I want to spend my entire vacation sitting in my room.

More options are always a good thing.

Not really needed for us. We bring DVD's for our in-villa evenings. They have the basic network so we can get news updates. Then there are my favorites -- DVC, DCL, WDW, and the like. I like to read in the evenings while on vacation so TV is less important.

no, I am perfectly happy with Deutsche Welle and CNN

Interesting...lots of Fox News fans here.

Funny, my father was a news junkie and I turned out just like him.....

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seemed like there were different channels at each hotel.

I would love to say that I'm so lost in the magic of WDW that I wouldn't watch TV but my nose would grow. When my feet are swollen from the Expedition Everest death march and I've burned to a lovely shade of lobster and I've eaten every single zebra dome that can fit on a 12 inch dessert plate, I find myself strangely glued to the tube, gently drifting to sleep to the sounds of the top ten rides at WDW. A little more variety couldn't hurt!

I'd like more channels so I don't find myself drawn to watching the DVC channel or the "7 Best Things to Do at Disney" show for the umpteenth time. I doubt Disney/ABC would add Fox, but I would like to see more Disney channels like we have on cable. Or a music channel, like music choice.

We just got back and I was very disappointed the rooms didnt have TBS, so I could watch the Clevelabd Indians play. Normally I really dont watch much if any tv on vacation/

And as an aside I never saw so many Boston fans as I did last week at WDW

We really miss Fox news and The Old Disney Cartoons. We watch it getting ready for bed and in the mornings.:thumbsup2
