on eternal hold now trying to move our Feb 7th cruise until late September. We'll have to cruise out of Miami but we could have a verandah for the same price as the ocean view we have now. I do love a balcony. :thumbsup2

Monday after a holiday weekend would probably be busy anyway never mind with the current Covid mess.

I got through in 45 minutes, they originally said 47 minutes so that was very accurate. I moved it to Sept 19th, Halloween on the high seas. At least we now have a verandah to sit on if this crap continues. :rotfl: :rotfl:

So there were no penalties involved?

So there were no penalties involved?

nope, that is as long as I don’t cancel. Then it would cost me half of the cruise fare because I was already within 60 days of my original date of departure

We want to move our February 2022 cruise further out, but we used a placeholder that expires September 2022. we want to push our cruise to May 2023. We are wondering if our placeholder can stay with the reservation. This is mostly because we already have 3 cruises booked for 2022, so 2023 is our only option to a future date. I’m impatiently waiting to hear back from my TA. She had to check with dcl for clarification When we spoke yesterday.

also wondering if a VGT cruise will fall under this new flexibility offer. We may grab something last minute if things start to turnaround. But we know VGT has a lot of restrictions So need to know our options. Ugh. Add being a dvc member and rearranging points that have to be used by March 31, 2022 doesn’t make changing very easy. I’m in the use or lose phase of my 175 points wrapped around this Feb-March 7 night cruise.

i had heard the phone waits were long, glad to see it wasn’t for you.

The funny thing while I was on hold using my cellphone by son starting texting me about his cat being sick. Apparently I'm a wannabe vet. :rotfl:

I didn't want to risk losing the half hour I had already wasted on hold so I grabbed our landline phone. He obviously didn't answer my call because it was an unknown number. He then called back on the landline and I couldn't figure out how to answer the phone! #firstworldproblems.

sounds a lot like my world. When I gave my husband an iPad a few years ago I never realized I would become his lifetime IT support. He can’t even change his password himself. So I bought him Alexa & Echo Show and tell him to ask them…didn’t help. Now I’m the IT support person for 2 more devices….🤦‍♀️

my husband asked me how do I see if I posted on someone's timeline on FB? Ummm... go to their page? He said well it shows that I don't waste endless hours on it. ;) ;)

I can’t see how they could make an exception to the Sept. 2022 deadline--everyone would want one!

I waited over 3 hours on Sunday. Probably best if you can avoid weekends, but I am on work calls all day so the weekdays never work out for me. The CM once I got through was wonderful though--some CMs really make your day because they are so positive and upbeat and get your really excited for your cruise.

Cruising on the dream for my 40th at the end of March. Just me and my wife. Still going and zero plans to cancel. We're both double-vaxxed and boosted. Also at the rate that Omicron is spreading, by then it should have died down significantly. Can't wait for our cruise!

this is what we’re trying to find out. effective yesterday they are letting us push our cruises up to May 31, 2023. This is the first time we could book this far out. Most of us who are being given the opportunity to take this offer want to know if the placeholder will be removed or not. Our reservation number would not change, just the dates. We cant cancel because we are under 60 days. It’s been awhile since placeholder extensions have been given, so we all need to know if they will be extended again like past offers. If they say no, the expiration on all placeholder remains at September 2022, at least we know.

I'm canceling, not because of the CDC guidelines, but moreso due to the current restrictions. The biggest issue for me is the kids activities. Having to prebook a limited amount of time in the kids club is disappointing. I also have a child nursery age, so I'd rather wait until that is open again. I'm also concerned about ports changing last minute and limited excursions.

I get that if you have kids. When my girls were in the kids club you couldn't drag them out of there.

i absolutely agree with you. I’ve taken 2 four-night cruises a few months ago and echoed your exact view. My cruise next month we have our teen granddaughters who really want to go. I’m so concerned they will be disappointed, though they don’t have the restrictions of the younger kids, though will for the pools. this cruise was not cheap and thinking they might not enjoy really bugs me. When we went recently, we went for relaxing and dining.
