I do love DxL(aka PO-R). However.....our next trip down we'll be staying at the Poly. My mind could be changed as to my favorite resort!!!! We'll see.

Well, I have only been once, I stayed at the Contemporary, I loved from the first time I saw it in the planning video and it didn't dissapoint.

I'd stayed at the Contemporary several times, and watched the Grand being built. First time I visited .. yep, it sure was love at first sight!!

We've only stayed at three WDW resorts(see below), but, Coronado Springs is far & away our favorite so far. It's a beautiful resort! What I'm hoping is the Swan will be our new favorite after next week's trip.

I think I'm still finding it, LOL!

Our first two WDW trips were offsite, so they didn't count.

Then we stayed at Shades of Green, and while it was a nice resort, it lacked any kind of theming. That's why when we stayed at Dixie Landings (PO-R) we found our favorite!

But then we stayed at Coronado Springs, and IT became our new favorite.

Up next was the Polynesian, and again, while very nice, it just didn't blow my socks off like I thought it would.

Up next was the Swan, and BINGO! I found a resort that fit me to a "t" in terms of theming, location, color scheme, etc.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, we stayed at the Dolphin and had the most unbelievable view from our balcony facing Epcot. It has been our favorite trip and resort to stay at yet!

I first stayed on site in April of 96 . I t was my second trip and i stayed at the Contemporary. I liked that the monorail was right there and i could go to te BIG arcade. It is my favoirte hotel.

Our very first trip was last December and we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Villas. We fell in love with it the minute we walked into the lobby. We went back in May 2002 and stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and all any of us could say all week was that we wished we were at the Wilderness Lodge. We are going again in December 2002 and we had orginially booked rooms at the Polynesian but after watching our tapes and looking at all of our pictures--we switched our rooms to the Wilderness Lodge. I just can't imagine staying anywhere else----ever. :)

Have definitely tried almost all of them. Our general approach has been to try new WDW resort experiences whenever the opportunity comes up. My sister and her family (who we travel with every time) are sold on GF. But for fun and theming (and some consideration of cost) Wilderness Lodge is my favorite!!!!! Need to go back!!!!!!!

We slept around......;)
I think we have a new favorite every time we go.......right not the Polynesian is #1 for us. POR was numero uno until we stayed at the Polynesian last month.:p

so far our ranking is.....
1. Polynesian
2. POR - Mansions
3. CBR
4. BC (until new room renvoations.....then they will be tops !!)
5. YC ( great location but still love the mods more)
6. CSR

The Contemporary was my favorite until I stayed at the Beach Club in 1992. It is my favorite Disney resort. I try to stay there at least once per year. I sometimes try other new resorts, but I always end my stay at the BC. In addition to the Contemporary and the Beach Club, I have stayed at the Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans French Quarter, Port Orleans Riverside, All Star Music, and All Star Movies.

I love all my past Disney rooms, but one resort shines brighter then them all:

All Star Music!

I have stayed at GF, Poly, CR (when I was young), AKL, and Dolphin, as well as the other 2 All Stars....

Perhaps it's the giant cowboy boots, or the delicious food at the food court, but I always keep going back!

This year I'm going back to the Poly, for the first time in a while, and my mind may change.

BTW: the Broadway building is my fave!!

I have stayed in every WDW resort except for 2 and I enjoy them all but my favorite resort by far is my DVC home BWV. The first time I saw the Boardwalk and BWV I feel in love, so much so that I came home and thought about it for a few days and then bought my DVC membership over the phone! I just love this resort, it has location, it is beautiful and has beautiful villas to stay in. To me it is like being in heaven!

CBR stole my heart last year, our original intention was to check out Beach and Yacht Clubs for our stay this year, but after checking it out, we both decided that CBR felt more tropical and vacationlike, and so this year its CBR again.

I haven't stayed at too many WDW resorts.. Contemporary, Dolphin (2x), Beach Club (2x), Grand Floridian, and AKL, but I fell in love with the Animal Kingdom Lodge when I went there in December. It was for the 100 Years of Magic Media Event, and since my dad is in radio we were with all of the radio people over at the AKL. It wouldn't have been my first choice - I also love the Boardwalk area with the close proximity to Epcot and MGM - but when I walked in I just fell in love. I was initially worried about the transportation, because I had previously only stayed in monorail or Epcot resorts, but I found the bus system to be very efficient and pleasant. I felt like it was a whole experience unto itself.. with the cultural representatives and the animal viewing and everything. I'm so thrilled to be staying there the night before my cruise in a few weeks, and showing the rest of my family how wonderful it is. ::sigh:: :D
We're trying out the BWI for the night after the cruise - I've always wanted to stay there, so I'm excited for that as well. :)

I would have to say it was practically our first one, as a family anyway! We stayed at CBR as a couple in 1989 and didn't return on-site until 1996, not counting the Grosvenor in 1995. So our trip in '96 to the YC was our first official visit on-site in many years. That's where we fell in love!! I guess partly because it was a first (return) visit in a way and also we are originally from New England so I'm sure the theming had a lot to do with it.
Great question, by the way!!
