Poll: What would you do?

You know your kid best. I took my 8-year old this summer on the Med cruise and he LOVED it. I was worried that he wouldn't do well with the time change but he did GREAT - the best of the whole family, actually! See my trip report in my signature for some kid-specific type feedback.

We took our at the time 2 DD (8&60 and they had an absolute blast and we are doing the london and Paris ABD this summer. We did full day tours and it worked fine. In Rome we did a part escorted and part on our own. Instead of going in the Vatican we went to the Rome Disney store and took pictures outside the Vatican with our Italy Mickey plush.

There are YouTube videos of just about every place the Med. cruises goes. Perhaps showing your child a few might help you determine the level of interest he has in them. If his school teachers know he is going, perhaps they can help stimulate his interest. The Med. ports offer very unique sites that helped shape the world today. They get more crowded with more security every month...they are what they are and can't be reproduced. If the early Romans had just a tad more insight/consideration for us today they would have located the coliseum, Pompeii, Pisa, etc. closer to the Mediterranean so that the bus rides wouldn't be so long to get to them. We did a B2B Med./WBTA, with the latter being a vacation from the first vacation. Good luck and cruise on...

I voted yes, but I think it depends on the kid and maybe depends on if this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip or not.

If it is the only trip you are thinking you might take, you may want to wait until he is a bit older. But my 9 year old would be all about it. She has food allergies, so a cruise is one of the ways to see some of those sights that seems least scary to us in that regard.
