I was listening to the podcast DISBoards show where they were talking about the thread "What are you Passionate About?" and was so surprised to hear Kathy and Pete say there are alot of Disney classic movies they haven't seen...not even Snow White or Cinderella....not that there's anything wrong with that :teeth: but it made me curious as to how many people are mainly just fans of Disney travel? Theme parks, cruises, ABD tours.

For me, I'm a fan of just about everything Disney. Movies, Disney history, books, music, theme parks, ect.......the whole kit and kaboodle.

(I was going to make this a real poll, but I completely forgot how to post one!)

I am an all around Disney fan, I am a fan of Disney travel, but I am also a fan of the characters, movies, and when my kids were younger the tv shows. I think having seen the classic Disney movies makes the attractions themed to them more enjoyable.

Howard Ashman and Alan Menken are responsible for my interest in the company. Had it not been for the cosmic triptych of Mermaid, Beauty, and Aladdin, I might not even been posting here today. Come to think of it, Little Shop of Horrors was instrumental to my childhood interest in musical theater. So, you could say they've always been heroes of mine. Anyway, that's the kind of fan I am; in the door because of the work, and remaining because of the rich legacy Walt and his artists laid the groundwork for so many years ago.

In other words: today I'm one mean, nasty, critical biotch. :thumbsup2

I'm a multiple-Disney fan. Everything from the movies to the parks. I'm even a shareholder.

I've also been to some of the Disney "on ice" shows. Now THATS dedication!

I would say I'm an all around fan. I love the parks, resorts, movies and I too have been to a Disney on Ice show. Just once though when our daughter was younger.

As an adult, Disney movies meant that generally, I would not be traumatized by violence in movies.
I am an extra sensitive person, and violence in movies scares the life out of me!

All my life I have loved animation, and my Mom took us to lots of Disney Movies when we were young.

The stage was set to become a Disney Fan !!

I remember as a kid, The Wonderful World of Color on Sunday nights. Walt Disney was speaking of the new place called
Disney World, in Florida.
As a family - we Never did go.

When I first got married, there's no way we had the money to go.

Now fast forward to the second Husband. We did have the money to go, but we were tied down to a most precious, elderly dog.
As much as I wanted to go to Disney World, we just could not put our "doggie" in the kennel.
Our dog died just before her 17th birthday. We gave her the best life, and she gave her best to us.

Our very first trip to Walt Disney World was December 1993.
( Keep in mind, we don't have children )

I absolutely FELL IN LOVE with
Disney World !!!!!

I love the parks, and the resorts,
and the way it all makes me feel.
I love the getting away from the real life.

I grew to love Buzz Lightyear and Woody - and I even MET them !

LOL !

Now, I visit WDW every year.
I'm one of those obsessive planners.

It is just one of those things that makes my life complete !

:yay:

We are all-around Disney fans. Movies, tv, parks (WDW and DL), you name it! I love to read the biographies of Walt, as well as the history of the company. My DH and I met working at the Disney Store back in the early '90s. Now we are into ABD and even considering the cruises. Of course, we love the podcasts and the message boards. :disrocks: The best things in my life came from my associations with Disney!

My love for Disney began as a child watching The Wonderful World of Disney (later "Color") on TV and going to Disney movies in the theater. The only animated movies I recall seeing as a child were 101 Dalmatians and The Jungle Book. I preferred real-people Disney movies featuring Haley Mills or Kurt Russell.

Disney theme parks are my love. In 1965 we went to the New York World's Fair, and I LOVED It's a Small World (and still do!). In 1966 we visited Disneyland on our first family trip to California, which was repeated again in 1971. My first trip to WDW was during spring break 1974 in high school. Subsequent visits were in 1977 (college), 1982 (honeymoon - the month Epcot opened), 1987, 1991, 1993, and annually since 1996. My first visit to Disneyland with my husband and kids was in 1998. I returned for solo visits in 2000 and 2003, in 2006 with my daughter, and in 2010 with my DH. While spending a week in Paris in October 2002, I took the train to Disneyland Paris for the day on Halloween.

I love to cruise, but so far I have been on only 2 DCL Bahamas cruises, with one more booked on the Dream in February. Adventures By Disney tours are too rich for my blood. I like independent touring, but would love to take a Rick Steves tour in Europe some day.

I worked at my local Disney Store from 2003 until it closed in early 2006. If I can convince my DH to spend winters in FL when he retires, I could see working at WDW seasonally.

**Oops - forgot about the partially-animated Mary Poppins - one of my all-time favorite Disney movies!

I'm an all-rounder. Love the classic films, from Snow White to The Rescuers to The Little Mermaid and back.
Its all the newer stuff I don't like, stuff truly aimed at pre-teens.

I also studied animation at college and find an appreciation in the old animated shorts and classics not many of my friends really understand.

Im an all around Disney fan as well. Walt Disney's personal life and all the books about him, the history of the parks, the resorts, the attractions and how they were all built and "imagineered" and all of the hidden mickeys. Im more a fan of Walt Disney World than any other of the Disney parks.

I love it all! I remember watching Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights and if there was a Disney movie or special on my mom would set up the card table near the TV and let us eat dinner while we watched. My first trip to WDW there was only MK and the Poly & Contemporary there. I have been loads of times and just last year we did our first DCL cruise. Our family is definitely in the theme park commando category so DCL was a great change of pace.

Dream job would be to work at Disney, but the DH is not about to move anywhere that hot! :lmao:

I'm a fan of Disney World and the Animation. I like Disneyland but a trip every 5 years or so is fine with me. I would like to see some of the parks outside of the US but to be honest if I am in France there are about 100 things higher up on my list to see than Disneyland Paris. I do try to get to WDW at least every other year and love it there. When I was living in Clearwater I had an AP and got over there a lot.

I like animation in general and still watch Cartoon Network but I think the Disney Featured Animation is the top of the line and also like a lot of the older shorts. I also love all the Bugs Bunny cartoons, the ones that are apparently all banned now because of violence (would you like one lump or two).

You have to realize I wasn't into Disney at all until 1995. I saw bits and pieces of Disney movies over the years.

I haven't seen all the Disney classics but am working my way through them.

Disney classic movies. Have quite collection of tapes and dvd. Disney TV.

Don't know much about people involved - but never was one to go gaga about famous people.

WDW. DCL.

Not at fan-fan, just Disney does the whole customer service thing much better than nearly everyone else. Esp if there if a special needs.

Many moons ago, I was just out of high school and teaching dance class. I had Alan Menken's daughter in my dance class. She was probably only 3 at the time. They were living in our small little town in PA while he was working on the score for The little Mermaid. I only met him once, his wife brought his daughter most of the time. I had no on idea at the time what a big deal it was. I wasn't a disney fan at the time and just thought it was cool that he was working out of NY and doing something important. If it would be now..I would probably be too nervous to even speak to him.

Everything Disney!
When I was young, my father used to put on his Disney records and run a set of headphones (that seemed like the world's longest cord!) from his office to my bed where I'd listen to all those great Disney film songs until I fell asleep.
Then, the Disney Channel came! Oh the magic! We'd watch all old episode of the original Mickey Mouse Club and my father would tell me all about Annette and the gang. I loved the Disney Channel shows in those early years! (please tell me I'm not the only one that remembers the original Mousercise...) And of course, all the great movies, new and old! Books, shows, all of it.
Then, my first trip to Disney World! All the pieces came together and I was officially in love! :lovestruc
