Thought it might be fun to add a little poll to all of us DVC owners. Feel free to participate.

I've often wondered after my recent initial purchase into DVC, which accommodation types are the most popular. I have my personal guesses but thought it would be neat if owners have some insight.

We have 4 kids, so we need a two bedroom when we travel as a family. When we travel as a couple we only use a studio. Conserve points.

It's usually just DH and I, so usually we use a studio. We had a 1 BR for the two of us this last spring, though, and that sure was nice!

So far we've only used Studios but according to my diabolical plan this will be the last time for that.

Well we're movin on up... to the eastside.... to a deeeeluxe apartment in the skyyyyyy

Oh wait, maybe I meant a 1 bedroom. Got caught up in a Jeffersons moment there briefly.

Usually get a studio for us (2 adults and 2 kids). This year (August) we are getting a 2BR because my DSis and her DH and DS are coming.

My plan is to book 1 bedroom villas even when I am traveling solo. I even added on points to do that. However, when I look at my first 4 DVC trips (2 already taken and 2 to be taken), I booked a 2 BR villa 1/2 the time. So I voted for 1 BR & 2 BR.

The unit size we have booked most often is a 2 bedroom, but when we don't bring guests and it is just DH and me, we always book a 1 bedroom.

We do a 2BR for the 5 of us. It's great to have the room. We also typically have family travel with us for part of the time; they usually get the studio. One year, we had lots of family so we also had a Grand Villa. The GV is very, very nice.

I think CRO was up to an evil plan when they talked us into a 2 bedroom unit for our very first trip to WDW. It's so hard to give them up! Most of our trip have been in 2 bedroom units with one trip in a studio (never again).

We also use our points for the three DL hotels.

Its usually only two of us (sometime, but not near often enough, our niece comes with us) but we won't stay in a studio. We bought in because of the tub and after having used the washer and dryer don't think we could travel for two plus weeks without them.

Although it's just the three of us (soon to be four) we always get a 1 bdrm. We reallt like being able to put DD to sleep and sit up and relax for a while. Also I am a very early riser so I get to put up a pot of coffee, sit out on the balcony, and read in peace. Plus the washer and dryer are a great perk!

All I can say is that I should have stuck to studios....and never ventured to the 1BR's:snooty: :goodvibes

Well, we had planned to mostly get 1BR's :rolleyes1 Of 2 trips taken as DVC members, one was a 1BR and once a 2BR. We've got a weekend to HHI planned for October in a 2BR and our December/holiday trip is also in a 2BR ;)

The 2BR in June was because we needed to finish off our dbl dev pts & use some 07 pts. We also thought my inlaws were coming with us (that didn't happen).
The 2BR this coming Dec is again to use up 07 pts and inlaws may come (but we need to kill off those banked pts)
HHI is a 2BR because we couldn't get a 1BR  (DH is still shocked that I even got HHI for Columbus Day weekend by calling last week)

Although after our June trip, DH seemed to really like the 2BR and not having to "reset" the living room every morning so we shall see

forgot to mention, we are a family of four (with a teenage daughter and tween son) The 2nd bathroom is really helpful with DD14 ;)

One bedroom for us. I really love the convenience of the washer and dryer and the extra room. We don't really use the kitchen, but it's nice to have a full refrigerator for milk/water etc.

I've been spoiled big time. ;) I've been in a studio two times since joining back in 1998 and all the other times it's been a 1 BR. Even when I go on my "mommy only trip" I try and get a 1 BR. I feel more comfortable in a larger space and love having the extras that you get in a 1 BR unit and not in a studio. I love that jacuzzi. One of my favorite things to do is make a trip to DTD and go to Basin for those bath balls! Then at night after a long day in the parks, relax in that tub with one of those fragrant bath balls. :cloud9:
Oh and the washer and dryer are a blessing. I've heard so many people say "it's my vacation and I'm not doing laundry". Ok...so drag home all your dirty laundry and when you're really bummed that you're back home, just think...you could have come home with clean clothes!! Plus I don't bring as much knowing I can wash when I feel like it. Especially today when many airlines are charging for extra luggage.

One day I hope to try the Grand Villa but I had better fine some more people to join DH and I. :rotfl:

When we purchased DVC we did it with the intention of always doing a one bedroom for the two of us. We'll do a studio once in a while (like this upcoming trip where we'll only be in it for 2 days, but I really prefer the one bedroom. I love the convience of the washer/dryer as well as the separate bedroom and the large tub.

We're pretty split between studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedrooms. Because of cheaper airfare, we'll arrive Thursday or Friday and stay in a studio then re-locate to either a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom on Sunday or Monday. This also makes it easy to split the trip between our 2 home resorts.

Our family is 4 adults though our son is currently serving in the US Army in Hawaii :beach: and isn't able to join us as frequently. :sad2:

When our daughter and her soon-to-be husband join us, the 2 bedroom is perfect. :yay:

Our points pretty much allow just dear husband and I  to stay in a 1 bedroom - love the washer and dryer! Even though we really don't use the kitchen facilities, we do use the refrigerator and enjoy the extra space. :)

Eight years ago when we joined we were thrilled by the studio for the 4 of us.

The next trip we had enough points for a one bedroom and were even happier. I still remember eldest DD walking into OKW and saying, do we really get to stay here?

After a few add-ons, the 2 bedroom is fantastic for us because we found we would rather not have anyone sleeping in the living room, due to different bedtime and rising times.

We haven't tried a grandvilla yet, but have invited family for a future trip with a 2 bedroom and a studio.

We have never stayed on our own points yet. We did rent points once and stayed in a studio at OKW and LOVED it! Our Aug trip will be in 2 studios at SSR. Next June we are splitting our trip between a Savannah view studio at AKV and 1 BR @ OKW.

For the next few years we are splitting our points between our family and my dad so it will be mostly studios for us. In a few years, all the points will be ours and we will be 1 BR or 2 BR from there on out :cool1:

Right now while boys are 3 & 5 we can still use a studio. Less points is better, so we can use the rest for trips to DLR. But I suspect that we will need more space as boys grow older.
