We don't like breakfast food much here and cereal is more of a mid-day snack for some reason. In my home the kids tend to make themselves PB & J or soup, Progresso was the favorite for years but now they are into broth with rice. Occasionally we'll do omelets, french toast or pancakes but my family can only tolerate so much eggs and syrupy sweetness in the morning. Fruit is a mid-morning snack or breakfast filler and I offer lots to choose from like apples, plums, kiwi, bananas, oranges, peaches, grapes... and this stuff is what I happen to have on hand today, we do lots of fruit.

I'm the only one that eats breakfast usually in my family. During the weekdays I usually have cold cereal, and weekends I have eggs, waffles, and yogurt.

I am also the only one who eats breakfast. I try to at least get a piece of peanut butter toast in the kids before they leave, but even thats a struggle.

I keep pop tarts and bread and granola bars and hope they at least try to eat something.

I usually have peanut butter toast or sometimes I will have an egg.

I eat peanut butter and jelly on whole wheat just about every day. I have low blood sugar and this sticks with me for awhile. DH eats oatmeal. Blech.

Well, I always mean to make a big hearty breakfast...but it usually doesn't pan out so I just have some fruit. Sometimes I will have coffee but there are rare times I splurge and get the good stuff, like Kona or something.

We eat pretty much whatever we want to. I try to spend a day on the weekend with DBF cooking and baking things for the week. We made some pop tarts with homemade jam, breakfast pockets with bacon, egg, and cheese. I will batch cook waffles. I usually eat peanut butter on toast every morning. DS also has the option of cereal, both cold and hot.
I make almost everything from scratch so even if it sounds bad it really isn't. The pop tarts are easy and since I made the jam from fresh fruit, it is a serving of fruit that I snuck in on him.

DH has the same thing each morning - 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast.

I usually have the same. Today, though, I am having 2 pieces of peanut butter toast.

The kids - they vary. Usually a bowl of Raisin Bran and a banana. But sometimes they both want eggs, too. But they need them scrambled with melted cheese on top ;)

I am the breakfast eater in my house. I selected "other" because technically, I am not eating eggs. About 90-95% of the time I make an omelet out of vegetable and eggbeaters. Once in a while I throw in low fat cheese or I flavor the veggies with either chipolte or garlic powder. I also have one slice of whole grain toast with reduced fat butter and a little bit of honey. Later in the morning I have a bowl of cereal with skim milk. I try to fill up on healthy foods early in the day so I am not hungry and filling up on junk the rest of the day.

Weekday mornings we have cold cereal or instant oatmeal, with fresh fruit or juice, and/or toast or bagels or english muffins, or (the kids' secret vice) toaster strudels. Yeah the nasty freezer ones, but they love them, and since I make them eat healthy cereal, I let them have this.

Weekends we get considerably more detailed. DH loves to cook big breakfasts, so one weekend day he goes all out with eggs, hashbrowns, sausage gravy, omelets, etc. The other weekend day is usually waffles or french toast.

A quick favorite in my house (and very healthy, too!) is plain low-fat vanilla yogurt with sliced strawberries and fresh blueberries mixed with some plain granola. SOOOOOO yum! :cloud9:

When I don't have the time, it's granola bars ;)

I used to eat nothing for breakfast because I didn't like breakfast cereal in the morning, and I used to feel more hungry and tired if I ate bread/toast first thing than if I skipped breakfast all together.

Now that I'm trying to get healthier, I eat a piece of fruit (usually grapefruit or mandarin orange) and about a 1/4 c. of mixed nuts. I find the protein really seems to give me the energy I need, without that draggy feeling I get when I eat bread. Alternately, sometimes I cut up an apple and put peanut butter on the slices :lovestruc.

You asked for recipes, so here's DH's supreme "Stuffed French Toast"

First make your french toast batter; Dh gets all gourmet here and adds vanilla and nutmeg to his. ;) He uses sliced french bread, not too thick. Next he makes a compote of whatever fruit is in season (last weekend it was fresh huckleberries) by cooking them with sugar and water and a little lemon juice till they are almost jam-like. Next he mixes up Philadelphila cream cheese with a little sugar and a couple of spoonfulls of the compote. Now make a sandwich out of two pieces of the bread, lliberally filled with the cream cheese mixture. Soak the whole sandwich in the french toast batter, and cook on a griddle. You have to cook this for a bit longer than normal french toast, so make sure your heat isn't too high or they will burn before the insides are cooked. Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar, a little butter, and topped with the fresh hot compote. SOOOO good. But really filling too, you won't eat again till dinner. ;)

I've never been a big breakfast eater- I get sick if I eat anything heavy in the morning- so growing up I was extremely happy when they came out with Carnation Instant Breakfast!:)
I don't like eggs, oatmeal, cottage cheese... wish I loved them all b/c they're healthy.

But for quite some time I've been eating a yougurt parfait every morning- lowfat vanilla yougurt with a high protein count- with sliced strawberries and some Bare Naked Granola. It's really addicting.

The kids will eat different things-- I'll fix them waffles, oatmeal, or they'll have cereal. And lots of Carnation Instant Breakfast.;)
The only time they have a HUGE breakfast with sausage and bacon and the works is when we go to Cracker Barrel when we are traveling.

Or when Grandma is here and she cooks like there's no tomorrow.

My wife and I just have a cup of coffee. The boys get to pick what they want and my wife prepares it. Their choices vary too much to list a "most common" item...

Sounds wonderful!:cutie:

I'm vegan. I usually have either bran cereal with soymilk or almond milk and fruit on top, or oatmeal (I often make this in the slow cooker the night before and come downstairs with breakfast all ready for me!) made with water with fruit, dried fruit and cinnamon and nutmeg added. Sometimes if I have more time I make a vegan French toast - I've been trying out various recipes to find the one I like best. I also sometimes have a toasted peanut butter and banana sandwich. I don't drink coffee so I usually just have a glass of water with my food.

Weekdays its usually something quick; cereal, toaster strudel, bagel or for something hot: cheese grits.

On the Weekend I usually make a big breakfast; eggs, grits, bacon or sausage and toast! Or pancakes and sausage!

I voted toast because that is what I and my mom mostly have for breakfast, but my step dad eats waffles/cereal most mornings. I figured I'd go with the majority.

Personally I LIKE oatmeal for breakfast but I tend to eat on the way to work a lot and toast is much easier.

With time and no calorie limits I tend to like farm breakfast. Eggs, biscuit and gravy, bacon, hashbrowns, and milk. But that only happens on holidays or vacation.
