Ok, which is it for you? We drink tap water all the time everywhere we go. We just don't see the need or the point in paying for something we can get for free.

So if you drink bottled water, tell us why you feel it is worth spending the money on. And what did you used to do years ago before bottled water was such a big industry? What made you switch from tap to bottled?

Bottled water tastes much better...that is why I drink it.

i have no problem drinking tap and that is what i usually drink.

however, when i am traveling i try to make an effort to drink mostly bottled (if it's a huge inconvenience i will still drink tap), because i have discovered that drinking water from different system affects me in ways i don't want to share on the dis.

at home we always drink tap, but we have a filter on our faucet (mostly for taste).

at work i drink from the water cooler because it is cold and easily available.

most of the time when i drink bottled here at home it's a convenience thing - like grabbing a bottle out of the vending machine at school or if i want to drink water in my car.

I used bottled water and went to Tap (but I use a brita filter). We went back to tap for the flouride for the kids teeth.

If I am out traveling, we will buy bottled water because it is usually colder than the fountain and the fountain has everyday germs. Ok don't take that the wrong way.

I always drink tap water at home because I find that it tastes perfectly fine. In fact, some bottled waters have an "off" taste to me, namely, Deer Park.

Some places I go on vacation: Ocean City, MD and WDW, well, their water tastes bad to me so I will go for bottled.

I drink filtered water at home...the water in my town just tastes bad. I buy bottled water for the kids to take to dance, school, soccer. We do reuse the bottles too and just fill them witht the filtered tap water so I don't need to buy so much bottled water.

Before we had the filters, I just didn't drink water very often. It's pretty much all I drink now ~ that and coffee. :surfweb:

The water from my tap honestly just tastes BAD. I buy gallon jugs of water at the grocery store for 50 cents a jug. For me it's worth if for the clean crisp taste. I drink WAY more water this way. :drinking1 And now I never feel bad serving water to my guests.

I voted for bottle but we do have a water filter at home and I fill up my bottles with that. I never drink tap water anywhere else. I'm real sensitive when it comes to water and can taste and smell if anything is in there so I don't chance it. I grew up with tap water that had a clorine smell and it would make me gag if I tried to drink it. I read of people who fill their bottles from the tap at Disneyworld and it makes me cringe :scared:

I don't mind drinking tap water (except at the beach or in Florida-- blech!) but we have a Brita filter pitcher at home for our water.

I buy bottled water when I'm out and about and thirsty. As for what I did before it became a huge industry... I drank sodas!

Our fridge has one of those filtered water dispenser things on the door. We have to replace the filter about every 45 days. A red light comes on when it's time to change it out. The filters run about $30 a pop.

You would not believe the nastiness on that filter when we pull it out. It goes in white, and comes out a greyish-black! I'm glad I'm not putting that in my body! It not only filters out all the muck, but it improves the taste too.

City water around here tastes like swimming pool water....loaded with chlorine! No thanks!

While on vacation, we always drink only bottled water.

I didn't vote because like many of the other posters, it depends on where we are.
Most tap water in RI is excellent, our well water here in Nh is lovely but in Rockville, MD; Orlando etc it is strictly bottled water for us.

At home I use the filtered water from my fridge. But out, it's bottled water for us in FL.

When I'm at home all I drink is tap. I think it tastes better than bottled water. But my family also buys bottled water just for its convenience. We do use the bottles and refill them with tap water though, so they get a lot of usage.

When I lived in Brooklyn all I could drink was bottled water. The tap water had a horrible taste. It was drinkable if you used a brita filter but most of the time I would buy bottled instead.

So if the tap water tastes fine I'll drink it with no problems. But if it tastes like the Brooklyn water, no thank you.

I mostly drink tap. We do have a case of bottles that we'll take with us in the car or maybe to the gym. And when I'm traveling, I'll get bottles. If I could get Evian delivered to my house (and had lots of money, I would drink that all the time. Love, love LOVE Evian. It's just so expensive.

Kids and I drink tap, filtered, or distilled water at home (in that order when available) while dh drinks only bottled distilled water. I believe kids need added minerals in the water so I don't let them drink only distilled water.

On trips we drink from a Brita water bottle or bottled water because we are not familiar with how "clean" the water is.

I will only drink tap water in Hawaii and not worry about bottled water. I didn't worry about it growing up there and I only discovered bottled water in college. The water there is high quality and it's non-flouridated.

The Milwaukee water supply was tainted several years back, and about 300,000 people got violently ill from cryptosporidium. DW was one of them, and we only drink bottled water now.

Me too. Our water is very hard and leaves white deposits. Anyone know how much a filter is for on your sink?

I agree... I got a batch of 'Deer Park' that tasted just awful. Even with bottled water you have to be careful what you are drinking.

To answer the poll... Bottled all the way!!!

I simply can not stand the thought of drinking fluoride and chlorine. (both of which are added to our municipal water supply at the maximum allowed levels.) Downright poison.

At home I drink tap water. I really prefer my home tap water even to bottled water (which I have no problem with). It just tastes best. We're on a well though, so we don't have all the chlorine in it.
At school, and most public places I'll drink bottled water. Definitely when traveling. The water here at school is GROSS. You could swim in it and come out germ free; it's that chlorinated.

Same here. DS was getting a lot of cavities even though he barely eats candy. Dentist suggested going back to tap water and he said he has seen a huge increase of cavities in the last few years since the bottled water craze.
