Poll - Staying in your Home Resort

We own at 3 resorts-OKW, BCV, and HHI. Besides those 3, I sometimes stay at AKV-Jambo on solo visits-we don't own there because we just can't justify buying any more points. Otherwise, all our stays are at one of those 3.

I bought BWV in 1999, my only purchase. At that time, the only WDW choices were OKW and BWV. Since then, I have probably stayed at BWV 50% of the time. I have stayed at all WDW DVC except SSR and Poly. Hope to hit Poly next year. When I first owned, I alternated between OKW in May and BWV in December. Since then I have alternated with the newer resorts. For example - 2013 BLT and BWV, 2014 VGF and BWV, 2015 VGC and BWV, 2016 planned Poly and BWV. I love BWV but also like some variety. I plan so that my BWV stays are in the hard to get months - October through December.

I've never been shutout of a planned stay at a non-home resort at 7 months. I toyed with buying VGC but wasn't happy with the rollout - I have an April use year and the first use year to get points was June, which meant I would have had to wait almost a year to get points. Glad I didn't, I'm 4 for 4 at 7 months.

I own at SSR and that's where I stay when I'm at WDW. I like it there. I've only traded into RCI once to go to Gatlinburg one fall. I've rarely borrowed, but often banked points because I can't always get away each year.
