Poll: Should you buy DVC now?

Lots of folks come here and ask the big question, and we give advice in lengthy thread discussions. This poll is primarily for the benefit of folks who are on the fence about buying into DVC, but don't have time to read all the responses. To that end, I've looked at all the different related threads, collected all the different answers that we've given, and put them on this poll. Some have unfairly called us enablers, but as you can see, there is a variety of different answers that we've given to people.

Anyway...now you can just vote on the best answer, and the people who are in a hurry can just look at the poll for quick advice.

2Lunds got it right... you should have bought 10 years ago (I wish I had).

We're currently trying to resist the urge to add on another 50-100 points at Riviera in order to book a GV every few years.

Honestly, it depends on your personal situation. DVC contrary to a recent podcast, is not for everybody, and more specifically isn't for everybody at every time. I know if a couple things were different in my life, I would not be the right candidate for DVC.

Great responses so far! On another note, please try to maintain the focus on realistic and helpful recommendations, like in the poll. It's not going to be useful to the folks contemplating purchase if we invent imaginary concepts such as "DVC isn't for everyone" or "No".

DVC is not likely to get any cheaper in the near future, baring a devastating economic event. If your really really want the PV Tower or FW Cabins, then I could see waiting for those to drop.

I must say, waiting isn’t for everyone.

Buy now if you see a great deal. However, the approx no. of available broker listed contracts is down to 1500 from 2700+ a year ago, and that seems to have supported and slightly uplifted prices recently.

I'd prefer to wait 3/4 months to see if those numbers turn around (in the buyers favour) in the dark winter. Everyone has their own view of the economic outlook. Mine supports waiting.
