Poll on buying VAKL

We would certainly give it some thought since we already manage a stay at AKL at least once a year.

I said no here for the same reason I said it on the CRV poll - we already have all the points we can afford. Of the two however if I was to buy new points I'd buy them at CRB of VAKL.

I voted might, but purely for financial reasons. We have the points we need right now with dues we are comfortable paying. If we somehow come up with the funds and can deal with the dues, absolutely. I love this resort.

The "wills" and "mights" are winning here, so looks like most of us on this board anyway prefer VAKL to CRV.

I imagine dues here would be slightly higher due to the maintenance of the Savannah. Of course, same could be said for CRV if there's an actual monorail line between the two structures -- which I doubt.

The question is, do the CRV and VAKL dues offset the costs of the other savannah's and monorail/etc with their dues?

As far as I know, the cost offset would be for unit maintenance only and a small share of total resort common maintenance. That does mean transportation and a portion of the grounds and lobby maintenance. Much as it is for the other DVC resorts that are connected to an existing resort.

I voted we'd defintiely purchase here, but I made an assumption that the villas would have Savannah views.

As much as I love this resort and theme, we'd be far less inclined to purchase if VAKL did not offer savannah views.

Total of Both Positive Votes = 65 = 49.24%
Total of Both Negative Votes = 67 = 67.5%

VAKL
Total votes = 133
Total of Both Positive Votes = 77 = 57.79%
Total of Both Negative Votes = 56 = 42.11%

In a heartbeat. Actually for right now DH and I are focusing on paying off a few bills and not even looking at another add-on. I could see us with a nice even 300 points, adding on 115 if they did VAKL. It's our favorite resort.

Ohhh.... It hurts just to think about it!

Truth is, we have lots of VWL points, and could not use ALL of them if we purchased VAKL and/or DVC in DL.

With that said, we will always keep enough VWL points to visit often!

My husband, though he likes SSR, absolutely fell in love with VWL when we were there in June. I am going to speak with my guide sometime in the next two months about a 75 point add-on for his Christmas present
So to ease your pain...if you decide to sell any of your points after any announcements, just envision my husband taking good care of them for you (even though I'm certain that they won't actually be yours).

As for me, the more I think about it, I just may have to join you at VAKL, looking out over the savannah

Savannah view or not would not affect our decision.

DH and I have been having a lively discussion on which points we would sell
to buy into VAKL. (VWL vs BWV).

probably would not buy here--especially against CRV. would prefer the monorail.
