If you had to pick one for dinner which would you pick for your family?

My family loves Ohana. There is a nice mix of foods but it isn't a buffet; I HATE buffets. I feel like I end up getting food for myself and the kids the entire meal and don't actually get to enjoy the dinner. They do have some entertainment for the kids to participate in but it's not over the top or terribly loud. Food was very good.

Boma's food was good but it was too far away for us to work it into our plan.
Whispering Canyon I thought was noisy and my husband got sick right after it so .... while I can't definately say it was WC I don't think he'll be going back.
Chef Mickey we like... but I'd still choose Ohana over it.

Well, I have not been to Chef Mickey's before but I'd go there for the characters. Not too impressed with Ohana or Whispering Canyon, and probably wouldn't go to either again unless staying at those resorts. I'd like to go to Boma but if not staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Tusker House in AK Park seems similar.

But, I probably would not go to any of them... I like so many other restaurants in WDW better.

We had an ADR for Chef Mickey's breakfast both our past trips but canceled while at WDW. In 2009, we changed our plans to go to HS that day instead. In 2010, it was scheduled for our last day and we decided to do lunch in Epcot instead. Nearing the end of our 2010 trip, we had already seen plenty of Mickey and Friends.... and the food at Chef Mickey's doesn't get the best reviews. If going during a busy time of year, I can see the value of Chef Mickeys - not having to wait in line to see characters.

Honestly, I would not pick any of them for dinner...breakfast yes but not dinner

On many trips the only ADR I make is for Boma dinner so that would be my choice.

Ohana is my favorite place for my fiance and I. But when we have kids, we know we're going to take them to Whispering Canyon! The atmosphere is fun for kids and the food is great for adults.

I think it realy depends on your family.

I picked 'Ohana because it is great for all ages, easy access from MK/Epcot and you don't have to get up and down for the buffet. And I like the food for dinner.

But Chef Mickey is great for the under 7 crowd, WC is great for 5-9 when they like the silly jokes (personally this place is my least favorite on your list)

DH and I love Boma and book it each time, but it is not as easy to get to and our DD fills her place with mac and cheese and desserts.

Only been to Boma and CM

Boma has very high food quality and lots of choices - I really liked it.

I really disliked CM. Poor food quality, messy buffet area, crowded table area, bathroom very far away, rushed/crowded character interaction. I'd never go back - too many other good places to eat. CM is like eating at a crowded Golden Corral.

While I love Ohana's chicken and bread pudding, Boma will get my vote for overall taste and variety of foods.

Have been to all for dinner and here's my order (Boma is better than Ohana by just a smidge)

1. Boma
2. Ohana
3. Chef Mickey's
4. WCC

I liked all of them, but Boma & Ohana have much much much better food than the other two. I like CM & WCC for the entertainment though.

I'm with you, I am not at all crazy about buffets. I feel the same way --that we all are getting up at different times and never really get to enjoy the meal together. I think we'll stick w/ 'Ohana. :)

Of all the meals I have eaten at Disney over the years, the absolute worst had to be Chef Mickeys.

The food quality was sub-Chef Boyardee. Absolutely the worst food - appearance, taste, variety....

The characters were indifferent and in fact, at one point it seemed as if 'Donald' and 'Minnie' were acting as if they were having an affair...

Breakfast a different story - but never again for dinner

We would not select any of these restaurants. All of these restaurants are focused on the setting, characters and gimmicks to draw people in year after year. If you are looking for a family dinner focused on a quality food, you should look elsewhere. If not, pick anyone of these and you will be fine.
