I had no bad side effects after the ride

what nearly killed me was the wait for the ride, everywhere you look there warnings, which made me a nervous wreck

The first and ONLY time I ever rode M:S was in late August 2003, shortly after it opened. When did they take it down a few g's? I am assuming I rode it at full strength. Maybe I should try it again some time. The Unofficial Gude suggests eating a banana about 1/2 hour before riding, to get the blood sugar up. Or chew gum or suck on a piece of candy during the ride (hopefully the gum/candy wouldn't fly out of my mouth!).

It made me nauseous for about an hour, but I was dead tired for the rest of the day.

I don't consider puking severe but that's what the poll labeled it. I filled two of the bags provided for such purposes, Afterwards I was fine. DH said he did not "feel so good" afterwards but not enough to keep him from riding again later.

I don't think we will be riding this. I do not do well in small spaces, especially in the dark. Elevators about do me in. DD is a wienie right now. So this is one I think we will have to pass.

It made me dizzy, had to sit for an hour, but dd (10) enjoyed it,she can't wait to ride it again this year.

 I got sick too, had to use the bag and went to first aid to rest for an hour. Never again, DH and DD(16) were fine.

Just anecdotal evidence, but from the groups I've been with (multigenerational trips and a student/teacher group) the people who tended to get nauseated or headaches were GENERALLY older. And I noticed that most of the folks listed by Disney as having problems were 55+. Was it just a coincidence or has anyone else noticed a similar trend? :confused3

Motion sickness for both Dh and I. We are both 27 yrs old and have never had trouble with any other rides. We had to return to the resort and rest after Mission Space. Not worth it for us to feel so lousy on vacation. :)

It had no effect on me whatsoever. Of course, there has never been a single ride in my entire life that has ever made me ill so I'm probably not your average rider. I love every sort of ride except water rides and I only avoid them because I don't like wet clothes or hair clinging to me.

My husband, who does not like spinning or roller coasters, also had no ill effects after riding MS. I have no idea what makes it effect one person and not another, it appears to be practically random. I guess I would just suggest that if you have any apprehension about riding, then don't ride.

My DS, then 13 and DN, then 12, rode Mission Space when it first opened and said "NEVER AGAIN"! They both ride every ride at all the amusement parks, Universal, Six Flags, you name it. When they walked off the ride they were both disoriented very badly. Thank goodness we went late afternoon as it ruined the rest of the day. After walking around for a bit, they both decided they needed to go back to the resort and rest. Never felt like doing anything again until they woke the next a.m. So beware and be warned.

My teenaged sons and I went on Mission Space and we had no problems. I am in my late 40's so age wasn't an issue. However, the tea cups make me woozy!

My DH & DS's 15 & 11 & I rode MS last year & we had no problems at all. I was a nervous wreck before though. I sent my 15 yr old DS & my DH on first
while DS 11 & I waited. When they told me I could ride it no problem then I went on. We rode a few times with no problems. I definetly would not eat right before going on though. I'm still too scared to ride TT but will do it next year. :cool1:

I rode this last summer. Afterwards, I felt kind of dizzy, or "out of it", a spacey feel. (more than my usual spaceyness! ;) ) Lasted about 10 minutes. I had to rest on a bench until I felt better.

I can ride all roller coasters, most simulators like Back to the Future, etc.-- no problems. But MS didn't thrill me enough to want to go back on again and feel that way. I'm glad I tried it though. You never know how it will be for you until you go on it.

57 years old, history of high blood pressure (controled with medication) and a sincere hatred for "thrill" rides. And yet, I loved it and have ridden it more that a few times with no adverse results. My initial reaction was, "man, that was awesome"!

No effect. I rather enjoyed the ride. My mom and DD did not enjoy the ride though. But all the guys in the family thought it was very cool. I will be on it again Monday. I can't wait. I wish I was there now.

Leaving tomorrow on my way to POP. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: ::MickeyMo  ::MickeyMo

I voted "severe reaction" because the one time I went on it, I had a horrible tightness in my chest. It felt like someone dropped a ton of bricks on my chest & it took me hours after to feel like I could breathe normally again. I really thought I was having a heart attack & it scared me. I've never had heart problems, but it does run in my family. Looking back I think it was because I was so nervous about going on and the G-force just exacerbated my anxiety, but I don't think I will try it again.

I love Mission Space - no effects at all for me! In fact, my whole family loves mission space and no one has had any ill effects after!

I stood there ready to go on and give it a chance (I get motionsick in the passenger seat of a car!)... but I saw that someone vomited on the ride and I took off and knew that I wasn't even going to try. Trusted my instincts!
