Hello hello!

Wow, I feel SO in the know thanks to everyone here! Instead of planning at the last minute, we were able to PIF this weekend, get our opening window for bookings and got our Sea Lions/Observers booked (only one time left, thankfully the morning, but I wonder if this ship is booking quickly?) and Twinkie got her spa appt (but had a really hard time! A lot were already booked!) and then we decided to go ahead and book the Sea Day PALO Brunch, even though I have NEVER paid for upscale dining on a cruise ship! But Twinkie & Her First-time DCL cruising Honey were going and I thought since my Honey LOOOVVES to eat, that I would try it. We decided on the BRUNCH so that way, we could be assured of an incredible breakfast (let's be honest, breakfast could be so-so...) and so we could still have a family dinner.

I've heard SUCH great things about the PALO brunch, so I hope we are making the right choice! Question is on the poll, have you done both Dinner & Brunch? Do you have a preference? If you are new to PALO, will you be signing up for Dinner OR Brunch?

If this topic has already come up, I apologize.

We are getting ready for another freeze!!!! AHHH....

:scared1::sad1::crazy2:

I was going to say BOTH! But it wasn't an option! :rotfl2:

However, I give a slight edge to Brunch. We had so much fun at brunch. I loved being able to choose a bunch of different deserts and options. I liked the glass of champagne. It seemed less rushed than dinner and slightly more casual. Plus you get a great view while it is still light out. So I say you made a wise choice! :thumbsup2 HAVE A FUN TRIP!!!

Following along as we have not been able to book either on our 2 Disney cruises!!! Tried online and as soon as boarding the ship.
Hoping to book both in Nov!

My option wasn't there either:

done DINNER and loved it, am doing it again; will be doing BRUNCH for the first time and cannot wait!

There really wasn't an option for me in your poll. We had Palo dinner on the Dream and loved it but I have heard wonderful things about brunch and wanted to try it since we have a sea day. When I did my online check in last week, I booked both! :rotfl: I went back and forth for a little while and finally just booked both because there were so many things that we loved at dinner and just couldn't sail without trying them again. So, I guess my answer is that I haven't gone on the Magic yet, but I have both booked. ;)

If for some reason, I had to cancel one, it would be dinner since I have already experienced it once.

I voted for dinner. We have done both multiple times and did both on the Fantasy in December, as well as Remy.

Brunch is good for sampling a huge array of many different foods, and enjoying a fantastic view while you dine.

Dinner, on the other hand, is more romantic and better for savoring one or two favorite items. They have the best steak on the ship and the chocolate souffle is the best dessert (IMO).

We're going on the Wonder in June and will definitely book both again.

But, the good news is that whichever you choose, you can't go wrong.:thumbsup2

To be fair, this is a little like asking which kid is your favorite. Brunch and dinner are very different experiences at Palo, and that makes each meal special.

Dinner tends to be a romantic or semi-romantic evening (semi- if there are four or six people at your table ;) ) It is a several course meal served at the table in an upscale setting. Like going to the nicest restaurant in town for your anniversary dinner.

Brunch is a more casual affair with an explosion of food. A huge buffet, and the kitchen will also deliver made-to-order items, like veal saltimboca.

We always do both brunch and dinner. However, since you forced me to choose, I would, just barely, choose brunch.

If you haven't seen my photos of the Magic, including every last item on the buffet at Palo brunch, check out my facebook album "Disney Magic, Reimagined..." here:

OO! Tarimusu! My honey has yet to find one that is a 10. Does dinner have this? If not, I will know I have made a good choice for sure. Also, I SEE SCALLOPS!

Good thing I'm running the CC 5k the day before!

We've done both multiple times and consider them two different dining experiences. I voted for Dinner because we like a nice relaxed meal for dinner and the chocolate souflee is to die for. But I would be very happy doing Brunch again. The choices are overwhelming, but if you do go be sure to get the chicken parm.

You may want to read the review I did for FoodieTales of our Palo Brunch and Dinner experiences. You'll find the link in my sig.

We have done both several times as well. We prefer Brunch and we usually book the earliest time slot. This way I have the whole day until our 8:15 dinner to work it off!!! We really just prefer the selections at brunch and it being more casual. I voted for Brunch. We also like the dining room rotations so like to dine in the MDR's with our servers.

I have done both, and prefer Dinner only because my husband preferred the food more, and it was for our 15th Anniversary. Not sure if we're going to go this year to Palo when we go to Alaska but if we do, we'll do dinner. Brunch was fun because we went with our entire group and it was more relaxed.

This is exactly what we thought. Twinkie at first had booked 12:30 and I said that won't cut it for my hungry honey and we aren't going to eat before that, so we booked 10:30. We know we will need to walk and sleep half the day after and prob wont want to even look at food until 8:15! We love MDRs with the group, which will be more casual fun vs just us four at Brunch.

I'm wondering same thing. Whenever we go, we would put kids in kids club...hmmm. Wish I could see schedule for day at sea the week I will be there..

We've done both (just did brunch on the Magic a few weeks ago). We prefer dinner because it was more "date-nightish"...more formal, more romantic, more special.

We've done both. I prefer brunch for the variety, the view (at dinner it's dark!), and not having to miss the main dining room. In your case you will also be able to take advantage of the nighttime family meal together.

Dinner has been inconsistent for us in groups of 4-8. It's more romantic and a better experience for two. The chocolate soufflé IS good but I'm not sure it's worth booking on that basis alone.

Good luck deciding. The Magic is a great Palo experience.

I prefer brunch on the new ships and dinner on the old ships. Palo brunch on the Magic doesn't have the same selection of cold food as the Dream or Fantasy does.

We always try to hit both, as mentioned above they are totally different. If you can work both into your plans & budget, then I would recommend doing both the dinner & the brunch, it's your vacation, Go for it. And yes the chocolate soufflé IS to die for. ::yes::
