POLL: Maelstrom or Frozen?

While my wife and I certainly enjoyed Maelstrom, over the past 15 years of our Disney trips it has fallen off of our must do list. I would rather it be updated (as with a lot of countries in Epcot) rather than replaced by a non factual MK style ride. Disney has made their decision in the matter and I suspect that they will create a beautiful ride that everyone will clamor to ride.

I seriously doubt they're going to do much if anything technically different with the boat ride in the change. That's why they should build new. I'm guessing just the theme and hopefully some change to the queue because it will otherwise be a nightmare spilling out into the small courtyard area.

I read somewhere that they aren't changing the track at all, so it will be exactly like Maelstrom but with different scenery. Hmm... I wonder if we can convince them that Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin should definitely be played at the very beginning as our boat climbs the hill...

I liked Maelstrom and I also think a Frozen attraction should be good.

As pointed out early in this thread (haven't read much of it), Epcot is suffering from a lack of attractions. It would have been nicer to see a new attraction in the Wonders of Life or Odyssey locations, or perhaps an Imagination pavilion overhaul. Replacing Maelstrom with Frozen doesn't add to the attraction count, something Epcot needs. And in the short term, Epcot has even one less.

I voted Frozen but there are catches. 1) It has to really be a tier 1 ride and not just a simple overlay of the Maelstrom ride. (the amount of money rumored to have been dumped on the project says it will be) 2) If the other Frozen branded attractions faded into the past with the exception of the sing along at HS and the meet and greets. The parks are suffering Frozen overload right now.

I want to see a fresh new ride and Maelstrom was cheesy and aging

I vote Frozen. I don't have the sentimental attachment to Maelstrom that some do. I will say though that Disney should be looking at creating new rides at Epcot, not replacing old ones. That is one park with a serious ride shortage.

I would have voted for Maelstrom if it was not the existing attraction. I think they could have made this ride so much better. I ride the existing one maybe one every three visits (so about once a year) and honestly, will only miss the trolls shouting Disappear! Disappear!

Like I've said in other threads, lets have Mickey, Donald and Goofy take us through the American Adventure next. Disney already opened the door with the Mexico Pavillion. Why stop with Norway?
