Our tradition is to eat at Chef Mickey's before the MNSSHP. It is a blast as Chip and Dale go around trying on everyone's costumes and the rest are dressed up. I voted for the CP out of the choices but Chef Mickeys gets my vote.
I would go for LTT. We went last year with our two DD, ages 4 and 10 months before MNSSHP and it was awesome. We were allowed to stay in the park in between the park closing and MNSSHP by getting the wristbands inside the park. The characters at LTT were all in Halloween costumes as well
as a lot of the diners. It was really cool. The waiters and waitresses were all dressed like the characters from the Haunted
Mansion which looked cool but they didn't go overboard and scare the kids or anything! We like both CP and LTT but I'm just partial to LTT because you are served the meal and can enjoy sitting rather than getting up for the buffet at CP. Have fun with whichever you choose!
I like them both, but voted for LTT, just because they bring the food to you. Food at LTT is more home cookin', comfort type food. CP has more variety.
Jacksmom--I believe our priority seating last year was for 5:30. The park "closed" at 5 p.m. if you didn't have tickets to MNSSHP and re-opened at 7 p.m. for the party. So what I tried to do was schedule our dinner in the "down time" so we wouldn't miss the actual party itself. We will probably do the same this year. It was a lot of fun.
Aaagh!
The first few days of this poll, CP was winning about 2:1. I thought, "Okay, we'll go to CP". Then slowly but surely LTT started to catch up. I just checked and it's a dead tie! I still have 3 days left; hopefully it will go one way or the other and help me decide!
Well MrsMud it's evens stevens - I voted for CP (I love both) but I think there's more variety for children at CP and there seems a little more room to cuddle the characters and then ofcourse there's the party song. I really do like LTT though

Since you have been to both, would you mind describing some detail re: the atmosphere of each (we have never even seen either one). Also, what is the party song you refer to? TIA
Crystal Palace - went here for breakfast as we walked in we could see Pooh was holding audience as people exited. I noticed straight away that the place was buzzing, lots of kiddies. As the meal is buffet style you just go up and get your food there seemed a lot of choice for kiddies who had there own special counter. The characters, Eeyore, Tigger and Piglet were brought round to meet us and we had lots of fun with them. Half way through the meal there was some music struck up and then the characters had all the kiddies dancin' and following them whilst the rest of us were twirling our napkins in the air - very good fun.
Liberty Tree Tavern - Not that noisy. We could see Minnie walking around when we entered. This is served family style and we loved the food. Minni, Pluto, Chip n Dale and Goofy ALL came to see us Minnie and Goofy twice!! It felt a smaller restaurant and quieter than CP but then I guess as you don't have kiddies going off on their own to get their food it would do.
Mrs Mud I shoud say I don't have kids but am very child friendly and my thoughts on my previous post were based on what I would prefer when I was a child - the food for a child seemed more scrummy at CP than at LTT - more choice. At LTT though you don't have up from your table and it's less hectic. I guess it would depend on what characters your children like best and if you're seeing them elsewhere. We're suckers for them all and I'm nearly 34
we definitely prefered Crystal Palace. We seemed to get more time with the characters, I prefered the light bright atmosphere, and the buffet was a big hit with my dd (who just ate mashed potatoes at LTT). LTT was ok, but CP was superb.
Thank you to everyone who replied and voted. Since the poll came out just about dead tie , I think we will choose CP for the characters, as we have never dined with Pooh & Friends before.
