I'm trying to get our touring plans and itinerary set, and am wondering how many hours people actually tour. We are not nappers, and had planned on just being in the parks all day, but people keep telling me to break in the afternoon. I feel like we're all going to go back and sit in the hotel room and ... wish we were still at the park. So, I'm just curious:)

we go early and try to see everything we want. we take a break after lunch and then head back after dinner.

We get there around rope drop and don't leave until the park closes.

We're hard core.

We are there from the time they open the gates until they close! Well, unless we leave the park to go to Downtown. We do not stop to rest or nap!! We do that when we go back to work! ha-ha!

Rope drop until at least the parade. You are asking people who surf the disboards though.

We tour in the morning (from rope drop (ish) to about 1ish), and then go back in in the evening/night for EEMHs.

Me and my family go to a park at rope drop every morning and then go back to the hotel for a mid day break. Then we go back or to another park in the evening! Ah, I miss it! :cloud9:

When it's just DH and myself- All day. But with our 7 and 1 year old- We take breaks halfway through the day for a rest. And even with the rest, we don't keep them out until 1 am... Usually 9/10 at the latest.

We will find a place in the parks to relax a bit some days and other days we just keep going. We seldom leave before the park closes.

Usually on a week long trip seven nights / six days I just do a park every other day. Two days at Sea World and one Disney park. On our Disney park day we are there from rope drop to closing. In March on our MK day we got there at 8 a.m. and left at 11:30 p.m. (a 1/2 hour before closing), so were there there 15 1/2 hours. Now the next day was a relaxing day at our resort and a little mini attraction (The Titanic museum), so we could sleep in, relax, etc.

I am there from Rope Drop/A little after Park Opening until the Park closes, with park hopping in between (if the option is on my park ticket).

I think it depends on WHEN you are going.

If you're going in the middle of the summer when the heat is on and the park hours are much later, then I'd take a break in the middle of the day to get out of the heat and recharge for those late nights.

If you're going in the winter months when it's cooler and park hours are much shorter, I'd be in the park all day long.

On those border times when it gets hot in the afternoons, but park hours are 9-9 or 9-8, we play it by hear. If we're hot and need a break, we take one. If sitting in an A/C restaurant or show is enough to cool us off, we stay in the park.

On average, I'd say we are actually IN the parks 8-10 hrs a day, but we, too, are hard core park fans. There have been some WDW vacations where we don't even get in the pool at the resort because we'd rather be in a park.

We only spend 2-4 hours each day in the parks (unless we are with our grandchildren). But we visit Disney about 4-6 or more times each year. On our last trip, we just ran over to Epcot to get some cold brewed tea from England and then had lunch at Rose and Crown. We left right after lunch to relax and then over to POFQ to see Elliot Dyson at the Scat Cats Club. We usually spend our Wed - Sat evenings there to hear him play.

Rope drop until lunch, then we go back to our resort for a break. DS and I do not like to take naps, but DH does. So we usually hit the pool while he snores away in the room. Our breaks do not last too long, usually about 1 - 2 hours, so we don't feel like we are missing too much park time. We go to a different park in the evening and stay until it closes. We really love the evening EMHs, especially at MK. We usually go in June, so the parks are open pretty late. This year we are going in October so we might have to alter our touring style a bit.

We have small children so we get up early and hit rope drop each morning...no sleeping in for us. Then we stay at the larks until about 1:30 and thence leave the park for an after ion break. We head back to the parks around 5:00 and stay another 3 hours or so depending on whether we stay for fireworks or not.

Our last trip seems to be typical for our family of three. We stay off-site, but so close to the property that travel time is a mute point.

MK two days....day one was rope drop to 1 and 5 to 1 am....day two was our last day and we did rope drop till about 3 went home and packed.

EPCOT two days....day one was front of park rope drop till about 4 or 5 and world showcase was 10ish till 10ish

AK one day.....rope drop till about 5ish

DHS one day....star wars weekend...rope drop till end of first fantasmic plus one last star tours ride.
