Taking the crew (a 5 year old princess, 3 year old lightyear & the newest princess who will be 10/12th ) come October for Halloween and maybe a little early Christmas. Last time we stayed a few days at the KOA then moved to the FW(highly advised against this plan as it waste a ½ to full day) . This time we are spending the whole time at the FW.

How many days do you normally stay at FW/ How many do you go to Disney attractions?

12 nights at FW / 6-7 days in the Disney parks

We like to stay at FW at least 5-8 nights and will do the parks maybe 2 days and sometimes not at all.

We only had 7 nights at the fort and spent 5 days at parks. Way to much time at the parks. Never again. We were so worn out. Next time we will do things differently so we can enjoy the fort.

We are finally getting to stay for 10 nights each-- our next 4 trips to FW!:woohoo: We usually do the parks almost every day. Whatever the 4 kids agree on. But we don't feel pressured to do the parks because there is so much to do at FW.:goodvibes

We go for 8 days and usually spend some point of each day in the parks. This time we will be taking a little more fort time however. We just want to be able to take advantage of all the fort has to offer.

We usually go for about 8 days also. We spent the weekends at the Fort or other Disney resorts. We go to the parks during the week, but not full days. We'll go in the morning and then spend the afternoon at the fort...while sometimes going back to the parks in the evening. Works out great...enought time to have fun and enought time to relax! :thumbsup2

If we go for a short trip 4 to 6 day we spend everyday in the parks. Our longer trips 8 to 10 days we may do a few hours in the parks or skip a few days.

We usually go for 10 days (11 nights) we arrive on Sunday and stay until a week from the following Thursday.

Last time we had a 7 day hopper pass and an extra not used on our old tickets that we used for Blizzard Beach.

I have two Fort trips this year. We have annual passes.

The first one is 7 nights in October with hubby joining me for 4 of those nights. I'm not sure how much we'll be in the parks and how much we'll be at the Fort as this is a new type of trip for me. There will be 9 other campers like mine there and we're all camping as a group. The F&W festival will be going on during that time and I imagine we'll spend a bit of each afternoon booth crawling and attending food demonstrations.

My December trip will be 14 nights and I know 5 of those days I'll be full bore in the parks at the Mousefest activities. I'll probably spend at least 1 day of that trip over at Universal/IOA. I'm sure I'll have at least 1 or 2 days where I do nothing but hang at the Fort, and I'll also be bouncing around meeting with friends at various meals and get togethers. I'll also host an open house for RADP members and DisBoard camping board members one afternoon.

We try to do 1/2 days for two days and then take a day off. This is when we stay for more than a weekend. Fortunately, we live close enough that we can go up for the weekend. If it is just for the weekend, we will do 1/2 days and park the RV on the last day in the overflow and do a 1/4 day and drive home. Those weekends are a little harder on DS4. As he gets older, we will increase the time in the parks, but we try to avoid meltdowns as much as we can.

On our trip last month, we were at FW for 7 nights. We spent 5 days in the parks, 2 days in the campground. That's fairly typical for us, except that last november we spent 2 days at Universal, which cut into our campground time. Universal was great, but we really missed the down time at the Fort. I wish we could spend two weeks at WDW - I'd like to do 7 or 8 days in the park and 6 or 7 days at Fort Wilderness.

We are going to Mousefest too! This will be the second one for 2 in our group and first for 5 others...look forward to seeing you there!!!
we have 8 day passes...non exp. since we go pretty often...we are also going to Universal 1-2 of those days...doubt we will do down time...but have before...with the non exp. we don't feel pressed to use the passes all at one time...we usually like one shopping day and end it with the Luau but may do Hoop this time...planning time is upon us almost for ADR's...trying to get 6 others to voice their choices and get atleast one special thing for each person will be a challenge lol...:hippie:

I have gone for 5 nights two times. The first day we get there early and hit the park after check in. We usually spend everyday at the parks. But not full days. We either get there first thing in the AM or last thing in the evening. I have a 4 year old, so all day at the parks is not an option. That is why I love staying at FW. We can still enjoy the fort and not even go anywhere.

Next time we will go for at least 7 nights and probably take 1 or 2 days off.

This last trip was 13 nights. We did 5 days in the parks (partial days with EMH) and the boys also did 2 waterparks. It worked out pretty good. When we finally get to the point that the boys aren't coming with us, there will be much less park time and way more fort time.

:goodvibes We stay 2 to 4 weeks twice a year wife works remote durning the day. Go to the parks every day for something rides, ice cream, parades, shows and just people watch.:) Have been luckey to get to do this last 2 years and plans for this year.:dance3: Also sometimes adrive to Cocoa to watch the Disney ship go out, watch space shuttle launch and have lunch at grills resturant.:cloud9:

We've done it so many different ways. It really depends on what you are feeling up to. Our last trip, we stayed a week with 2 park days plus one MVMCP. We had time to spend at the fort, DtD and swimming. It was about perfect!

We are usually there about 2 weeks. We never do parks two days in a row. There is always a day or two in between to enjoy everything else. After all we are on vacation, we have to have down time.

We cancelled our passes, so no parks for us, well, actually just Sea World.

Are you from Kansas or just a Jayhawk wannabe? We're in Shawnee.

Next trip will be just me and the kids with our annual passes hanging out at the fort. We'll come and go from the parks as we darn well please and will have whole rest days where there is no alarm set and we'll clean up for a nice relaxing dinner. Then we'll be back in '09 with DH who is neither a camping or disney fan so we'll stay in a hotel and see what he wants (i.e. Star Wars Weekends, maybe golfing, the luau, etc.) Either way, at most is 2 consecutive park days then a rest day, park, rest, park, rest...
