After having a few days to digest I am interested how people think Genie+ will play out. The threads have all gotten pretty long with some huge divergences in peoples opinions. Some seem to think it's the best thing ever while some are saying this is the last straw and selling their DVC contracts and swearing off the mouse.

As I haven't seen one yet, I thought it would be nice to see how people felt about the new system in numbers via a poll. Just by perusing the threads it seems like there are more people who are viewing this as negative versus positive but am interested to see what the numbers actually are.

There could probably be 10+ poll options as I assume many people have varying degrees of what they feel this "enhancement" will do to their park touring plans, but I figured a 1 to 5 type poll is good enough to get a sense of how much our community loves, hates, or is indifferent to the change.

I'm in the camp of initially Hate it Will Not Use It
But will Wait and see and if it adds value might use it here and there.

I don't like it one bit but will probably end up paying for it since we have a 20 month old. He's not at the age where he can wait in long lines.

Not happy about it but will almost certainly utilize it. Perhaps the most bothersome announcement to me though was the pay for the RotR, I have a large, diverse group visiting around the end of October and while I knew getting a realistic BG might have been difficult and by no means guaranteed it likely means there's no chance to get on for free for those that would enjoy it but are unwilling to pay an additional fee having already paid a decent amount to get into the park.

currently neutral on it until I see how it plays out in the real world. I am leaning towards unfavorable merely because it seems to take away a lot of ability to preplan before vacay which we do a lot. But I'm open-minded on seeing how things shake out. Will pay for it and use it no matter my feeling if is advantageous to us.

That said, it is definitely the straw that broke the camel's back in regard to onsite lodging. Too many perks are gone now for the premium price of Disney resorts. It doesn't make sense for our family to stay at Disney property anymore.

I'm hoping the Genie will make finding wait times easier than the current MDE method of expanding the graphic until I can see the times and then having to select the time to see which ride it's referring. A list would be nice. If the Genie can figure out what we're interested to list it accordingly and not include all the carnival rides would be a bigger plus.

I don't intend to purchase anything - there's no ride that I "have to" experience presently. If I don't mention the pay option than DH will forget about it. LOL.

I'm in the "like the idea and will get it some days and for some rides". I don't think it will always be needed, but I really love the idea of it and can see it being a great option.

A few years ago I really wanted a way to pay a little extra $$$ to ride new attractions like RotR, Tron, & Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. But now, after they've removed so many of the things that made Disney workable for our family of four, I just don't know if this will work to our benefit or not. However, I do believe that if the idea is terrible, Disney will know it by the end of summer 2022 & that they'll switch it up a little at that time.

It's probably wait and see how well or poorly it seems to work. It wasn't that long ago folks really complained about FP+ at 60 days out. In some ways, G+ is less advanced planning intensive, which many are going to prefer. Things have been evolving at WDW for 50 years now. These won't be the last changes to come.

Will never directly pay an additional cost to ride any ride. All they needed to do was bring back the FP+s and raise the ticket prices, which they will most likely do anyway, thereby hiding the cost of paying for the rides. Also, no virtual only rides. Once you buy a tciket, you should have the capability to stand in a line for a ride.

If it works as promised, it might be useful putting together your day for people who go to WDW infrequently.
I suspect for most people on Dis Boards, they will want to do their own thing.
My biggest fear, is this is not going to work as promised, be buggy and crash frequently. We had issues just with mobile ordering our last 2 trips and I love mobile ordering.
Pushing more people to be using their phones, will WDW upgrade their WiFi enough to handle this demand?

In theory I'm with you but the RotR line would have to be capped in the AM and probably just after rope drop to ensure those in line got on. That would mean people would wait in line the entire day for one ride. Sure, it's their time to decide how to spend but I think there would be a lot of unhappy customers if the choice were to pay to go to the park, spend the entire day in line, and ride a single ride or miss out on the ride many desired above all others. I suspect only locals would ever get to ride as out-of-towners are unlikely to want to spend an entire day of their trip on that. I think the system they've had is about as good as it can be there.

I'm currently neutral on it. Having been a huge FP+ fan and having that system figured out very well any change was going to be disappointing. Add in additional cost and of course I'd rather just have the previous set up. That being said, I thought it was going to be worse than it is. Less people will have it, people will only have 1 at a time, only able to make another selection once having used the current one.....in theory it could make additional rides easy to get during the day. In reality they may just cut back on the amount made available through Genie. I can't wait to play around in the system and try to get this figured out.

I voted neutral. Waiting to see firsthand experiences before we decide if we will add it. Will say that we plan to do zero table service and really cut down our in-parks food and souvenirs budget in general to offset the cost if we do decide to add it to our next trip. Also I honestly don’t see us using the surge pricing lightning passes. Super glad we have a few months before next trip So there is time to sit back and let them fix bugs, for more attractions to open back up to see true test of its capabilities and /or figure out the ins and outs of it by the time we get there.

I like it - maybe I'm overly nostalgic, but it brings back memories of paying more for E-ticket attractions in the 70's 8-)

Overall this seems to be about the best that could have been hoped for. I am still in wait and see mode regarding what rides are included and what the per attraction cost would be for the big rides.

As a veteran of Maxpass in DL I paid for and thought that system worked quite well. This is somewhat different and more costly, but they could have gone the direction of Disney Paris or Universal which are both more expensive systems. Even with all the complaining I think Disney listened to customers. We were absolutely getting a version of paid fastpass. This could have been much worse. For my family of 4 this would cost $60 per day. Maybe more if I decide to do something for a specific ride, which I am not inclined to do, but who knows. Universal will cost me $400 per day for my trip in Sept, and weekends are more expensive. It is a little more inclusive, as you don't need to set a time, but it still excludes certain rides.

I expect it to be glitchy at first, but hopefully the developers have gotten most of the bugs out.

Neutral! It may add some certainty/assurance about getting on a couple attractions in good time without waiting around the unmasked.
