The President Bush approval ratings threads got me wondering, has your opinion of him changed since he became President in 2001?

Keep it civil, folks! :teeth:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: No, it's exactly the same. I don't think it was possible for me to have a worse opinion of him.

Was that civil? :lmao:

My spirits were lifted momentarily just after the 9/11 tragedy, but they sank again in the ensuing years.

My opinion has changed drastically - and not in a "good" way..

Yes. I liked him when he ran against Gore.

Now I wish I voted for Gore!!! :teeth:

I was a big Bush supporter for quite some time, but I am becoming more and more disillusioned with his administration every day now. I don't regret voting for him in 2000 or 2004, but in 2004 he had almost become the lesser of 2 evils. Now I am not so sure he really was the lesser...

I did vote for Gore! See? ;)

Seriously, I never did approve of President Bush but my opinion has worsened. I usually learn to like Presidents more once they're in office. :(

I didn't vote for him either time and my opinion has worsened. More telling, my husband was at a poker game with 8 people last weekend, every single one of them had voted for Bush. (My husband excluded.) All of them were complaining about Bush.

I've been a Republican for 25 years now and voted Republican for the Presidency since 1980(first year I was eligible to vote). But I voted for a Democrat in 2004.

I'm a fiscally conservative, less government intervention, smaller government but socially liberal type of guy. I was against the Iraq war based on my beliefs that people and countries have a right to bear arms and only lose that right if they have misused the arms.

I have been very disapointed in how our rights have been eroded. How our debt has grown. How we've interfered, darn how we've invaded other countries. How our government is getting involved with people's personal lives.

I truly hope we can get a middle of the road person into office in 2008. We need someone willing to be reasonable.

Yes, it has...

I actually feel SORRY for him now, something I never did before.

I was shocked at how so many people were fooled by him but knew that one day they'd change their minds.

Now that many have I kind of feel sorry for the guy... unlike some people I feel like he DOES care what people think, I just don't think he knows what to do now.

I don't think he's an evil or bad man, I just think his priorities are a bit skewed. They never were mine, and I didn't expect that from him.

Poor guy....

I voted for him and can't believe I did. I didn't like how he dealth the hurricanes disaster. I'm sick of Iraq. And I'm tired of him mentioning the war on terror. I'm just tired with him period.

My opinion has not changed. He never spoke for me.

Never voted for him, never liked him. I don't think he's an evil person, just not a good President. I haven't seen one thing really improve that matters to me: the war, the way the hurricane disasters were handled, family planning- not that I expected much from him, Osama is still loose, gas prices are going up AGAIN......

Ditto. I stood out in the rain for over 2 hours to vote for him and what a mistake. :sad2: I can say now I ashamed that I wasted my vote :rolleyes2

Although some recent events made me raise an eyebrow (port/arab issue) I still think he is the most honest and down to earth president in my lifetime.

I voted for him, support him and most of all, trust him :thumbsup2
