Poll: Do you pack extra clothes or do laundry?

I did two loads--underware for the kids more than anything, don't know how they go through it like they do---the first was a sea day after our formal dinner--by then everyone else was either at a show or eating and were busy doing something else.

The second load I did during the afternoon when we were at port. We had gone out early, came back for lunch and so there wasn't anyone at the washers. It was terrific!!!

Before we went I swore I wouldn't do any laundry, wish now I had taken the wash tablets--$1.00 for the detergent, $1.00 for the wash and it takes $2.00 to dry anything (2 cycles).

I think I'm leaning towards NOT doing laundry on this cruise. (As I said, last year I wasted much of the day waiting and missed activities w/DH & DD.)

For those of you who said to send it out, it's VERY tempting. Does anyone know how much$$?

I'm already saving for the spa/massages, and for all the shopping in St. Maartan and St. Thomas, why not save for cleaning service? We only do this cruise once a year, I think it'll be worth it. Does anyone know of a website that might have the price info?

I don't do laundry on vacation either!!!!!! Made my DH buy a shirt in Cozumel as he was running low on shirts. I heard some one at guest sevices complaining about laundry room being busy 24 hours a day and they were across the hall and said it was very annoying.

well, they sure weren't on deck 7, because that was empty A LOT of times. I'm sure those people are not on the Dis Boards or they'd be aware of things like where the laundry rooms are and where the noisy rooms are, etc.

Don't ask me why I have it, but I just ran across my laundry service bill from our 7/4/02 cruise and the prices then were:

Laundry (not drycleaning)
shirts 3.00
pants 3.50
socks 1.00
undershirts 1.25
PJ's 4.00
handkerchiefs 0.75
undershorts 1.25
T-shirts 2.50
blouses 3.50
slips 3.00
nightgowns 3.00
shortpants 2.50
sports shirt 3.50

I typed it exactly as the ticket was written. We send out our clothes for pressing only when we board and that cost is 50% of the above costs. It is great not doing any ironing! I sent 10 shirts and 3 pairs of pants out for $20.00, best deal on the ship IMHO ;)

I did do laundry on our 7 night Eastern and used the deck 7 laundry room in the evening (around 9 pm). It was completely empty and took no time at all. I loved being able to pack 1/2 as much for the three of us!
