Poll: Do you drink *tap* water?

Do you drink tap water? (when you can)

  • Yes, tap is fine. Don't waste my $$ on that bottled stuff! <wink>

  • Tap when I can, bottled if I'm out or can't get "good" tap.

  • Tap, but I filter it at home.

  • Bottled all the time, rarely tap.

  • Tap or bottled, whatever is handy. Either is fine.

Poll coming.....

With all the bottled water available, do you still drink tap?

No tap water for us. We have well water and I just would not chance it.

I quit drinking tap water after hurricane Isabel blew through. The water was undrinkable for a few days and then just smelled awful after that! I never recovered... we have bottled water delivered here now.

We drink spring water at our farm, and carry it in. If we are in town, we now drink bottled, due to the high concentration of chemicals in the local water supply.

I'm somewhere between most of these, but I chose "Tap but I filter it."

I have a Brita filtered water bottle that I use at work (and at Disney). I have a Brita pitcher for home. But most times at home I just drink the water that comes out of my fridge (same water that feeds the ice maker). I don't think it's filtered because I don't have a filter to replace.

When I'm out, I usually get tap water with lemon to drink.

But I do keep bottled water on hand, to grab when I'm on the go.

I've had a water cooler in my kitchen for the last 20 years, and get spring water delivered every month.

I also buy the .5 liter bottles to pack for lunches for the kids, and work for DH and I.

A few years ago I totally eliminated soda from our house (even diet soda), and we'll only have soda if we go out to eat, or on a special occasion. My DSs have always loved spring water. I buy the Crystal Light flavor packets for the .5 bottles, too, so that gives us some variety.

I do a little of both.

I use a Brita pitcher at home. And will drink tap water when eating out. I just use plain tap water to make lemonade or tea.

I still buy bottled water though and drink it sometimes.

I always drink bottled water at Disney or other places traveling

All the time, but with a lot of ice to kill the taste.
btw, I hardly ever get sick, a cold every few years maybe, that's it. So it can't be all that bad.

I haven't drank tap water since I was about 10. I live in the city that inspired the book and movie A Civil Action.

Why not?:confused3

We have well water too and had it tested. It is completely safe to drink. Most city waters make me want to puke when I drink them. For me it is either our well water or bottled water.

I drink the tap water from my fridge, but I have a filter in it. When the water starts to tastes a little funny, then I know it's time to change the filter.

I'll cook with tap water, make coffee with it but to drink it straight from the sink doesn't thrill me.... Our town does put flouride in the water so the kids need that for their teeth but the water had kinda a nasty chlorine taste.:

I usually drink tap water from our fridge, which has a filter on it. We often forget to change the filter, though, so who knows if it's doing any good actually filtering. I prefer that water because it comes out of the fridge fairly chilled and it's the right temperature for me without adding ice. I also use water bottles that I refill and put back in the fridge and for those I use sink tap water. I prefer the taste of our tap water to most bottled water. I do sometimes grab a bottled water when I'm on the go. If I lived in an area with bad tasting tap water (I don't like Orlando tap water, for example) I'd use bottled.

My father is a chemical engineer, waste water treatment specialist. Because of his experiences, I feel totally safe drinking the tap water here. Other places, not so much. :lmao:

We have some of the top rated Tap water in the US and we still drink from a bottle service. DM has it for her hair salon and we have just got use to getting out water from that. We fill and keep a gallon jug in the fridge.-

I drink tap water, and make juice and drinks with it......BUTTTTTTTT our dalmatian gets Poland Spring water.......she will be going to the kennel in a few days and we bring four gallons of spring water for her to have there.......YUP we are nuts:goodvibes

I drink tap though a Brita filter. Ours has a nasty aftertaste that the filter gets rid of. I also like it cold so that is the other reason why I do it. I rarely drink bottled water. And not all bottled water is good IMO. Some I think tastes horrid and won't ever touch again (Dasani and Fiji for example)

I almost never drink tap or make other beverages with tap. Our tap water tastes horrible and you can taste the difference even in a cup of coffee.

Tap at home, bottled when I am out. Some towns around here have awful water.
