DH and i do. i just wish we had a king size bed instead of a queen, i feel like we're pratically ontop of each other lol

My husband falls asleep on the couch with the tv on. So saddly we sleep apart:(.

most times dh and i sleep together...i like to roam around at night though so i never know where i'll end up at. maybe i was a cat in a past life.

We sleep in the same bed. When DH is not here I have a tough time getting to sleep. (like tonight)

No.

- DH snores terribly and always seems to want to be facing me.
- I stay up later than DH and it bothers him.
- he likes the fans on, I like fresh breeze coming in the window in summer and do not like the white noise.
- I like space, he likes to move around - usually towards my side of the bed.

so, when DH is ready to turm out the lights, I go in the other room and read or play on the internet with my own space and quiet!

I still have trouble sleeping knowing he is not home!:)

:wizard:

We sleep in the same bed, but we both have our own blankets/comforters. Mostly because I don't like them on me until I get cold... around 2 AM

We sleep together except when I occasionally kick him out when he is snoring extra loud. I do know quite a few couples that do not sleep together though for various reasons.

i'm beginning to think DH and i need to do this, because we're CONSTANTLY stealing covers from each other while we're sleeping. one of us always ends up having the very edge of the covers while the other has heaps of blankets on them lol!

Us too. Before we had a king bed we would both sleep miserably- me because my DH moves CONSTANTLY and him because I was waking him up all the time to tell him to stop moving.:lmao: Often times he would go on the couch so we could both sleep peacefully. We sleep SO much better now with the bigger bed. We could never go back to anything smaller than a king! And I love sleeping in the same bed now!

lol that's our problem, too. DH is CONSTANTLY moving around and it wakes me up anytime he moves.

Before this thread I would have guessed maybe 2 or 3 out of 100 people sleep in a room other then their spouse on a standard bases. None of my friends do this that I know of. I will have to chalk this up to something I learned on the DIS.

I would ask all of the shocked people what the big deal is about sleeping with a person. Other than the obvious . Assuming that is taken care of ;) why the need to force yourself to spend time when you are not even conscious with a person? I mentioned that I felt so guilty leaving the bed when I couldn't get any sleep. Then, with age I guess, I thought, what the heck? Sleep is a necessary biological function. I need to take care of myself physically and anyone who loves me should certainly understand that. :confused3

I always like to point out it's NORMAL for us because we had a situation with extended families that involved law enforcement and one of the sticking points they got hung up on was that they thought there was some fighting going on since they didn't sleep in the same bedroom. I would hate for some one to just assume there were issues just because we each have our own bedroom. Not even close to being true. I got the better end of the deal -- I have a Queen sized bed and the master bedroom while DH has a twin in the basement. LOL!!! I have really gotten spoiled with it. It does make traveling on vacation more difficult because then we have to share a bed and well...we both like our space.

It works for us.

ditto. I think there WOULD be fighting going on if dh and I shared a bed - we'd both get up cranky from keeping each other awake all night! DH shares a twin bunk with our son. I'm looking at buying a very nice new queen mattress for my room and feeling a little guilty having the better bed. Well, not THAT guilty. ;)

We sleep in the same bed(King)but have our own sides. I like my freedom, I like lots of pillows and rearrange during the night. I wish I had my own room. I fall asleep really easily, and I like to watch tv before falling asleep. It is very relaxing to me. I could never just go to bed with no tv on. My husband likes to watch "some" tv before bed, he states he simply cant go to sleep with it on. He will also point out that since he works and needs to get up, I should shut it off. i dont like watching tv anywhere else in the house, exept my room.;)
Eventually I shut it off..but sometimes I get up during the night to go to the bathroom and cant go back to sleep. DUring those times I would love to put the tv on and see what my bestfriend "TIVO" has recorded for me, but I dont..

We are sleeping in the same bed just not at the same time right now. He is working nights and sleeping days and I'm on the opposite. I always miss him when I'm in the bed alone and then it's hard to sleep when he is in the bed. I'd still rather have him in it than be alone.

I have no idea what others do for sleeping arrangements. I've never cared to ask.

Yes we do. Except when my Bf is out of town for work then I would sleep on the couch. It is just not the same sleeping on the bed bed without him.

My DH was checked for sleep apnea and even had surgery but he still snores LOUDLY. We haven't slept in the same room for many years.

The only problem now is hotels. We try to find a suite but otherwise the trip is difficult. :(

Yes, but I admit that I have thought about sleeping in a different room more than once. Especially when I am woken up by my DH's snoring.

Ok not my spouse but yes we sleep in the same bed - always.

My BF is a spooner, he loves falling asleep that way and so do I. My xDH was a traveler and I spent most of my time solo in bed, so I love this.

As a matter of fact he even keeps a hand on me when he is sleeping. It is funny to feel him rollover but then smack goes the arm:rotfl2:
