Yes-siree-Bob!

Mid-day breaks are a must! We get to the park early, get some must-do's done, then go back to the hotel and swim/nap, then head back out to the parks or to DQ/PI. I find that taking a mid-day break allows us to escape the hot afternoons of Florida and recharge for the nights!

PS - DH is 30 and I'm 26 - yeah, we need breaks!

Wow that's a pretty evenly split poll. I guess that we have been known to maybe lay down for a minute or two when we get back to the room either before dinner or before the evening activiites (depending where the nature break is).

Usually we make it the whole day. Stopping for lunch is a nice break and there are always those few attractions that are good for a break. Until our latest trip I had never stayed awake during the whole Universe of Energy attraction. I think there is a whole post dedicated to attractions you've fallen asleep during.

DH and I were 31 on our last trip to Disney and we took afternoon breaks. We just don't like to be out in the heat of the day, so we did early entry, got out of the parks by 2pm at the latest and went back to the hotel to nap for a couple of hours before dinner.

IT WAS PERFECT!!

It keep us well rested and definitely helped with having to get up so early the next day by napping the day before. Did that make any sense??

I always schedule breaks, even when I travel in the off-season and the hours are shorter. We might decide on a particular day that we are not tired, but sometimes it is just nice to head back to the resort and rest for an hour or two. I find resting in the afternoon helps me get a better nights sleep while I'm there as well!

We used to go back to our resort for a nap. Now, with a kindergartener, we need to go back for a nap. She plays or watches TV while we nap!

Empty Nesters, but that doesn't really matter. I take breaks with kids or without. Just makes my day more relaxing and enjoyable to get away from it all. What's a vacation for if you can't relax???

I think it all depends. DH and I only took a mid day once. Though, we usually are able to handle the full day at the parks. If you start to get tired, feel free to rest--sit down for some icecream or just people watch.

we go in Dec or Jan so the hrs are shorter and have never taken resort breaks with or without kids..we do however always linger over a sit down lunch. the only days i was really tired last time was just before wishes and illuminations so i sat on a bunch and people watched for about an hr before both..however i have a chronic illness that causes debilitating fatigue so I have lots less energy than most so i sit every chance i get. we also take entire rest days off between park days which works better for us( 2or 3 on to 1 off if possible)

since we are taking lunch breaks midday (sit down meals) i guess that will be our break! :D :sunny:

We are empty nesters in early 50's. We rise early and head to a park to do as much as we can yet not being commandos. We find returning to room onsite early afternoon for a break is very restful. Then we head out again for dinner and evening entertainment. We also have recently become DVC owners so don't have that "gotta do it all in one trip" feeling anymore. Much more enjoyable!

My DW and I are in our late 30s and enjoy our midday break.
When we travel to Disney sans kids we are always at the parks when they open as we refuse to wait in lines. We take advantage of Early Entry as well. We also love evenings at Disney, whether it be fireworks at a park or a night at JellyRolls. To do this we need that swim and nap in the afternoon to keep on goin'!;)

Yes!!!!

We usually go back to the campground, relax and cool off, then we either take an hour nap or go to the pool. Then we return to the parks around 5:00 for dinner and the rest of the evening feeling refreshed and the feet don't hurt nearly as bad at the end of the day.

This is our first trip as a couple, so I can't speak from any real experience. However, while planning our itinerary, I scheduled lunch for 11 or 12 (depending on dinner plans) and a snack for 3 or 4, which I guess constitutes a break.

We have tickets for Cirque du Soleil the night after visiting AK, so there is a two hour break btw. leaving AK and our dinner ressies. Just enough down-time to take a shower and change, but not enough to let ourselves "crash".

Also, we are planning on visiting MK and doing MVMCP in the same day. I scheduled a noon lunch with ice cream and an easy round-trip on the WDW Railroad.

Do you guys consider watching the parade a break? If so, I've got those planned, as well.

DH and I (late 20's) usually head back to the room for a rest mid-day, if we have time. We usually stay at Boardwalk, so the hotel is a convenient rest stop between the Studios and EPCOT. It's nice to have a swim, shower and change before heading out for the evening.

We're fortunate that we can go to WDW pretty often, so we don't feel we need to be "commando" and be at the parks from open to close. :)

During our first trip as a couple we took breaks every day and it just so happened to be the same time all the families with kids were taking breaks. So the pools were always crowded and by the time we got back to the parks they were overcrowded too. Now what we do is get to the parks early, do all the rides/attractions we want to see, then we have dinner and go to our hotel at a decent hour (on occasion take a night swim). The only night that ends up being really late is when we want to see the fireworks. It usually works out pretty well.
