Poll!: Cindy's Castle....Keep the Gold or Ditch the Gold?

Someone posted on another thread about keeping the castle decorations with the gold and flying characters around the spires after the celebration. I have come to love the new look and think they should keep it, but they need to ditch the huge mirror....what do you think? Should they leave the gold decorations on permanetly?

I like how with each theme they change the castle. I loved it for the 25th with it decorated as the big cake! I say keep on changing it! It is something new to look forward to.

PS - I do like the current castle though. It's so sparkly!

I really do like it. But I think it should only be left up for the celebration, and the castle be returned to normal afterwards.

I'm taking two friends for their first visit ever to WDW in December and I am so sorry that the castle looks the way it does - especially with the mirror. I'm sure a certain set of the population likes it, but I like the stately manner of the original. Of course, it goes without saying, that I really hated it when it was blown up like a b-day cake. Still, the concept of change now and then is good as long as in between it falls back to type.

All my honeymoon photos have that stupid cake in them. I like the gold, but I'm a purist also.

I like the gold accents - it gives it a more regal look, IMO. Not a fan of the mirror, though. It can go.

Of course, I haven't seen it in person yet, so my opinion isn't a 100% educated one.

I really like the gold (sans the mirror) but I am a purist as well and prefer the original. Plus, it's cool how they change it to suit different celebrations (although I did absolutely HATE the birthday cake).

Seen it that way the last 3 trips - I'm done with it.

The castle should go back to it's original form after the celebration. I think it actually looks somewhat tacky with all the little sparkly things on it.

I really like it. I even like the mirror. We noticed while waiting for a show that the mirror changes to each Castle and each Disneyland (hong kong, toyko, paris etc..). Didn't know that till I was up close and staring at it.

Anwyay, I enjoy finding a new character on it or around it.

But in the long run, I guess I'd like it to eventually go back to it's original form.

I wasn't sure what I thought from the pictures, but it's really pretty in person...it took me a day or two to get used to it, but I love it now. I have some great pictures. -- It might be just a TAD too much gold, but I don't think it's overly gaudy, especially if they remove the mirror.

HATED the birthday cake as well. It was just AWFUL! I called it the Pepto Bismol Castle! LOL!

I think it's a nice addition for the Celebration, but I think that once it's over and Cinderellabration is gone, it should return to the classic Castle.

I think they got carried away with way too much gold!
And that awful mirror thing..... OMG get rid of it!

It does look nice with the gold..... but as I watched the gold go up.... (looking at pics on the internet) and then saw it in person in June...
I think they should have stopped sooner... it is just too much gold.

But definitely.... they need to go back to the original castle after the celebration. The castle is beautiful with out all that extra garb.

Does anyone know exactly when the castle is going back to normal as I really do not like it with all the gaudy gold and that awful mirror. I was so upset when I saw it on our trip in June and we're going again in 6 weeks and I really wish it it was going to be the beautiful traditional castle I was going to see.

I would hope to keep the characters that are hanging around on the castle if they don't want to keep the whole design. But the mirror needs to go!

KEEP IT KEEP IT KEEP IT. We just got back and it is really beautiful. It's funny because I think the mirror really sets it off. Very pretty.

I haven't seen the new deco. in person yet...but I will in Dec. I think it's neat how WDW adjusts the castle for "special" occasions. I too was there for my honeymoon when the castle was a big pink cake. Was it my favorite look? no way. But, it was neat to see the castle decked out. I have no negative memories associated with the "pepto bismal" castle.

From the pics Ive seen of the castle, I think it looks awesome. Do I wan't it to be permenant? NO WAY! It's fun to look foward to new decorations!

I'm in agreement with most everyone...I love the gold, don't like the mirror, and hated it when they made it into the birthday cake.

Although I love the gold, I wouldn't want them to leave it. It would make me miss the old way the castle looks. The same way I miss the old Spaceship Earth before the wand

I love the gold. I think they should keep it, but maybe tone it down just a bit.
I think the mirror is ok for the celebration, but that can be removed.

I never saw the 25th cake in person, but it looked hideous. I do like the addition to Space Ship earth too. I am a sucker for glittery additions as long as it isn't too gaudy.
