The NY metro area/Boston metro area (or just NYS and MA in general) thread.

Salem, MA...people love to come here but are often unprepared for how crowded it can get. And funny enough, Danvers, a neighboring town is where the witch trials began.

Born and raised in MA. My whole family still lives there so I go back a lot. I now live in the PNW, one little comment about the East vs West that really shocked me, is the little things we say in Boston that they DO NOT understand out here. Like I always said "Look out for the Statie" and "Got to run to the Packie" and "That's wicked". And people would just stare at me. There are a lot more, but I had to do a lot of explaining in the beginning. I now just say things like "basement" instead of "cellar."

I still call everyone Kid though... and Dunks is still Dunks.

And GO SOXS.

I used to live in Massachusetts (born and brought up for 40 years), but now in Texas. A few years ago, someone came up to me at the convention center and asked "Where's the bubbler?" and I had no trouble directing her. But as she walked away, the people with me asked "What's a 'bubbler?'"
My son now lives in Queens with his girl friend. She's a Yankees fan, he's a Red Sox fan (owner of a brick a the "Nomar's entrance"at Fenway). How do they survive? By only going to Mets games-at least that's somewhat neutral!
