I'm doing a write-in vote... I'm voting for John Magi! :thumbsup2

The Disboards are no place to discuss sensitive political issues! Now lets get back to talking about this whole guns on Disney property thing!!;) :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You have to be reading my mind!!! I was just thinking.....this is the podcast board and political issues come up in the podcast all the time.

I'm going to support Kevin........as long as I am invited to a white house dinner and I get to sit next to his mother!!!!:lovestruc

I am still undecided on who I am voting for . . . why did Ron Paul have to drop? Anyway, I don't know how I am going to vote. I wouldn't put something in my signature even if I did because I don't see how that is very relevant to this board. But it also doesn't bother me that other people put these things since they feel the need to identify themselves this way. Just my opinion on the matter.:hippie:

I support Kevin too! John can be first gentleman!

I have only seen two political threads on this section, and they were both saying they didn't like political threads.

I was thinking that very same thing!

I'm all for the podcast board discussing the podcast and issues related to it. But if people want to have a political discussion not relating to the podcast, I might suggest that there is a venue better suited for that purpose.

As for signatures, there's no discussion taking place, just "this is who I'm voting for" or "this is who I think sucks." It's a rather inflammatory thing to do, and discussion doesn't enter into it, so I'm not a fan.

That's comparing apples and oranges.....so which is it? Do we only discuss Disney? If the podcast team talks about a political issue, then that is okay to talk about?
Half of what is on the this board has nothing to do with the podcast anyway. Like a couple of posters said, the only thing here that has to do with politics is threads like this saying they don't like politics on the board???? I don't come here to discuss politics....heck, I don't even go on the community board because it is too heated and I don't want to take part in that.

I am curious??? Are you saying me having avatar supporting McCain is an inflammatory thing to do?
If so, why? I am simply showing a little part of who I am. Some people have rainbow flags, or sayings, or symbols of the armed forces, or brands of things they like, or religious symbols, or what ever is important to them. I do not find those things inflammatory, its just a little part of who they are.

If I remember right, Pete stated that he wasn't going to take the show in any type of political direction, ever. It's not a political podcast, so while he made his feelings known about how he feels about concealed handguns in your vehicle, etc. he said he felt he ventured too close to the politics side of the issue and didn't want to go there. I believe the Podsquadders agreed with this thought process.

So, if you want to do the politics thing or even say you hate the politics thing, that would be better posted down in the Community forum. They eat each other alive down there. It gets really scary and I can't handle it. I tried to participate, but it gets way too "over the top" for me. No matter who wins, some of us aren't going to be happy, but you know what, that's the greatest part of being an American... we have a peaceful and orchestrated coup d' etat every four years.

I think the thing that amazes me about political discussions is that people are arguing over opinions.

We could have the same discussion / argument as to whether green is better / smarter that purple. We will eventually come to a descision based how many people like green and how many like purple, but it's still opinion.

Dont get me wrong.....I'm sure people feel strongly about who is better suited, green or purple, but the anger and animosity shown toward the other is alarming.

If you really want to have a political discussion....let's talk about refillable mugs, pool hopping, saving tables at CS locations, saving pool chairs, people renting ECVs and heelies.

These are the issues that divide our nation.

I can't believe you'd even suggest there could be a comparison between green and purple. Green is so obviously better than purple.

If you'd picked yellow or blue or something...but purple?! It's not even arguable. Purple is dark and sinister. If you continue suggesting purple could be as good as green, you'll go to hell.

Perhaps you missed this:

But green's the color of Spring
And green can be cool and friendly-like
And green can be big like an ocean, or important
Like a mountain, or tall like a tree
Can't argue with THAT!

Purple.

:sad2:

(Doesn't anybody want a kitten???)

I just had to get this out so here is my mini rant:

Is anyone else sick of coming to the Disboards and seeing people throwing political viewpoints/slogans up on the boards. There is a time and a place and I just wish I could come to the boards without seeing a giant "Nobama Mama" or "McAncient" sticker in people's signature. It is especially annoying when you are on a thread where someone has one of these sigs has posted several times and that's all that jumps out. If someone hasn't already made their decision, is your inflammatory sig really going to change it?

If we can't get rid of them all at the very least instead of "anti other party" tags maybe switch it to one supporting your candidate of choice. Again, I still would not be thrilled but at least it is a little softer to look at.

I will now get off of my soapbox.
While i do agree with being tired of all the politics, the same can be said for TV. I want to turn my TV on and for once, not hear the mud slinging.
Ill be honest, I make fun of Obama and McCain, and Bush, Clinton, and anyone else at all. But theres a time and place.
While we must remember people have the right to display their view points, can you please display them in a smaller way? I have no problem with a small pic against or for a canidate, but when its a HUGE pic and HUGE wrds, thats when its anoying.

Colour me confused!

What I don't get about the political banners is, what exactly is the purpose? Do undecided voters see a sharp hi-res banner and go, Hmm that Mccain looks like a good guy to get behind!

If it is, as some say, "to show support", well what does that mean? Show support to who? Are the campaign volunteers going online to look at banners to motivate themselves?

It is a very odd thing and it makes me scratch my head and feel left out :(

Kevin raises a good point! What will Mccain do to prevent saving tables? I dont see Obama getting rid of heelies!

VOTE KEVIN FOR PRESIDENT!

What election...? :)

Actually, I rather doubt either side cares very much about me - they probably both think that any further East than New York and there's a great big waterfall flowing over the edge of the world...
