Police Officer Charged In Harry Potter Theft

Rogowski tried to pay for the items, but the registers were busy and he did not feel like waiting, the arrest affidavit said.

That is just about the dumbest thing I've ever heard - the line to pay was too long so he decided that STEALING the stuff was a better option? What is wrong with people?

That's absolutely hysterical. He said he did it because "the registers were busy." :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

he a police officer i wonder how many people he pulled over for running a red light and them saying i didn want to wait for the light. So i decide to got through the light i wonder if he let them go.

:sad2: It was photo albums, key chains and book marks, he couldn't live without these items?

I wonder how much stuff is walking out of there due to the wait at the registers.

What he did was stupid and wrong. I did not buy anything at the Harry Potter shops. Heck, I only got into one of them because of the lines. I am certain that a lot of stuff has walked out of there. I like the buildings and the new ride was worth the wait, but no way was I going to wait an hour or more to get into the shops. I think the one he did this at was at the end of the new ride, right? You could not even walk in there. Not alone are they losing money from shop lifters, but also people who are not going to wait to shop. I bought a shirt at the end of the night in the gift shop in the front of Universal. Tokk me 5 min.

This doesn't make sense to me. I know people will want to throw the book at him because of his position of trust, but this doesn't seem normal for someone to throw their lives away, for something so simple.

a police officer?! wow it must have been seriously worth throwing away an entire career with benefits for a couple of key chains..jeez! what a role model :sad2:

giving a man a badge and a gun does not make him a good guy::yes::

From another article.....

Investigators said the 17-year veteran of the Pittsburgh police force shoplifted at several stores inside the theme park. He is also charged with carrying his firearm on park property.

Pittsburgh police Chief Nate Harper says Officer Rogowski will likely be moved to desk duty during an internal investigation of charges that he shoplifted more than $300 worth of Harry Potter merchandise from the Florida theme park.

All I could think was such a bonehead. Losing an entire career over junk.
