We are debating on renting one of these special spaces during our trip in June. We have gotten a Polar Patio in the past, but never had a Beachcomber Shack. We aren't sure if we want to change it up, or stay with something that is tried and true.

What is your opinion? Which premium space is better in your opinion, and why? :thanks:

The Beachcomber Shacks are much, much nicer than the polar patio. They are a little bigger area-wise. They are also a solid structure that you can use for shelter in case of a storm (unlike the Polar Patios, which are not safe if there is lightning). We had both last year, but will probably not get a Polar Patio again. I actually just reserved ours.

do you feel that your belongings are safe at the beachcomber shack? When we had a polar patio I would feel confident in locking my phone and wallet in the safe and leaving my towels, mugs, and shoes out in the open in our patio. Mostly because it is a little bit more secluded and you would have to take down the rope and walk into the patio area. I am a little concerned that with the beachcomber shacks being more accessible to people walking by, that someone may swipe our towels or mugs.

No, I didn't worry about it at all. There is a safe like at the Polar Patio, and they are roped off. We prefer shacks 7 and 8 (less sand to walk through because they are accessible), but the ones behind it (9-12) are more secluded. The others (1-6) also look more secluded (we like being near the wave pool, though).

Anyway, if someone DID steal your towels, they'll bring you as many as you want. :-)

that's true haha I'm so used to having to purchase them or bring my own when we go that i forgot the premium spaces have unlimited towels :ssst:

Are the floors of these sand or are they on some sort of decking/concrete?

Decking. There is a sandy area outside the patio where the kids can play. For some of them, you walk through the sand to get to the shack. (Like 10 feet.) The roof is solid, though not waterproof. It's much closer to waterproof than the umbrellas, though!

ETA: Actually, maybe it's concrete. I can't remember for sure now. Definitely not sand.

Do you know if there is any map that shows where the shacks are located and which number shack is where?

I am apparently not smart enough to post a picture. Just use Google images for "typhoon lagoon cabana map".
