Polar Express: OVERRATED

Sandy, I noticed that real small kids were quite taken with the Polar Express. The theater was very quiet even though there were tons of young children there and when I looked around they appeared to be engrossed in the movie. They were however very restless and noisy at the Incredibles interestingly enough.

I agree with those who think the animation was "creepy." Down right disturbing, I'd say. Take those elves out of their Christmas wear and into something drap and they'd look like the evil forces of Mordor.

My youngest and my wife LOVED IT! The other kids and I thought it was just OK. We were disappointed in the way they designed the North Pole. Kind of a let down. Also, enough with the wacky CG racing effects please. The train was very cool going across the ice. After that much it felt forced. Just for the record....I cried at the end. I must be losing it.

IMO...read the book. The movie sucked. Well, okay the animation was beautiful in parts....but they just stretched out the story too much, added stuff that was stupid and boring.

It could have been great as an animated short film that stuck to the original book....but I guess no one out there would take a chance on something like that these days.

No one would pay to see an animated short film, that's the trouble. It would have to be in front of another movie and it would probably get lost.
