Poison Pets (Zhu Zhu)

In all fairness your original post did NOT look to be a quote from an article and those who do not prefer to click on links would have no idea you were quoting an article

(snip)

As a journalist (and a person who knows the proper way to note that something is a quote)... I think your statement of "learn to read" goes along with the voice of the original "quote" that you put in your OP.... judgmental and rude.

Well, let's analyze the OP shall we? We had a link, followed by a statement about where the story originally came from, followed by another link that had the complete story of what was paraphrashed below the link. If one chooses to be lazy and not read the provided information that doesn't make it my problem. I'm not here to hold anyone's hand. If they make judgements based on their lazy interpretation of the provided information then I stand by my original comment. Rudeness is oftentimes based on the perception of who exactly is the one being rude. This is one of those cases so I'll leave it at that.

Wow, OP, thanks for the warning! This could signal the end of humanity!

Zhu zhus replace our pets....

Other "toys" replace our husbands/boyfriends...

Dolls replace our children...

THE END OF THE WORLD!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

:rotfl2:

We have people here who have cancelled their WDW vacations based on the ever-so-slim chance that someone in the crowd may be carrying the next link in a worldwide pandemic. People like that take stuff like this seriously even if you and I don't.

but you'd like to tell us what not to buy based on one companies test of 3 of the hamsters?? To me, it all looks like your opinion, not a quote from anything. And you made how we interpret it your problem when you chose to post it, and post it the way you did. So what out of the original post is your actual thought and not something copied and/or paraphrased from an article?? (I'm truly wondering here)

:scared1: WOW I haven't seen those threads on here, but if that is the case, they just better stay in their homes, because something somewhere will get them! :scared1:

I have a better idea...learn to read. Neither of those articles have my name on them, they are links I posted.

At least one person gets it.

How about learn to use quotes then others will not mistake what you write for your words.

Although I did not, I still do think that you could have just reported the facts and provided links to information about the metal in question, not try to incense people by adding text that was mistaken for your words.

Actually I think more than one person gets it just not the it you think.

Wow! Who would have thought this would have caused such a stink! Heck, I even got involved and I could care less about Zhu Zhus! Never have been a fan of the "fad" toy, but I have no problem with those that do! I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and hope your search for a Zhu Zhu is successful!

Thank you for yet another assumption. I am far from lazy.. I just chose not to click unknown links from this computer.

I'm glad Zhu Zhus are safe and hope action is taken across this "consumer group" that tried to get a little fame from a successful company by hurting them!!!

I, for one, am very disappointed with people buying baby dolls for children. How does a piece of plastic really show responsibility?? Some inanimate piece of junk form china is not going to really teach a child how to care for a baby - it is just another sign of how bad of parents everyone in this country is. :sad2:

If you really loved your child, you would get them a real baby

Where can I buy one?

Where can I buy one?

*sigh*
If you were to pay for it, you are nothing but a vapid consumer :sad2:

Meaningful presents are only made by you personally, preferably in the great outdoors - how else can your children appreciate it??....now get out there, use your imagination, and get busy!!
...and dress warmly, I hear there is snow in the forecast.

Yeah but that makes returns kind of difficult.

The CPSC has stated that the group claming unsafe levels methodology is flawed. Ther only tesed the toys once, using a non approved testing method that is highly inaccurate. Basically they used a laser to take a surface reading and it can be off by as much as 20%. The CPSC has done its own testing and found them to be within acceptable levels with a valid test.

Laziness is not changing the misleading title of this ever present thread... :surfweb:

NO poison in pets

Poison NOT in Pets

... just some suggestions....

I didn't read all the posts, don't want to be weighed down by the negativity before leaving for DLR in a few hours. But here's my 2 cents worth.

Zhu Zhus are just a toy. Not a replacement for a pet. And yes, my DD10 will probably only play with it for awhile before she outgrows it. But, it'll be easier to dispose of then then the Teddy Bear hamster I bought her when she turned 8. She quickly tired of dealing with her and it became my job. That little creature lived for 2 years and 1 day. Sad to say we were glad to see her go. she had a happy life but she wasn't much fun to play with and she was very good at escaping.

Oh, and BTW, we have 3 real cats for pets.

Final thought, I posted this thought yesterday regarding the unsafe levels of toxins in Zhu Zhus. Look at all the press they got when they went after the #1 hardest-to-find toy this year. They are a For Profit agency according to yesterday's report on the Today show. Enough said.
