Pointy toed shoes...

My feet are as wide as a barge, and I wear Birskenstocks most of the time. My feet woiuld laugh if I brought a pointy-toed shoe near them!;)

Love them! I think round toed shoes as a whole look either matronly or little-girlish, and have to wear ugly shoes to work every day as a nurse. So when I get the chance to wear cute shoes, I do!

I have a pair of really pointy tall black boots that are so cool and a pair of hot pink pumps that are pointy. Like someone posted above, the point starts AFTER my toes. The trick is getting a pair that the pointy part is short so your feet doesn't look big. I also have some everyday high heeled boots that are moderately pointed, they are hard to describe, but VERY comfortable.

The nice part of living in the south is that I can wear open toed heels or sandals almost 8 or 9 months out of the year. That solves the toe problem!

Well they look so cute sitting up there on the shoe display. Especially the ones with the little bitty heel. I think they are called pancake heels? Anyways I love those kinds of heels. So then I think, well maybe. And I'll fish out a pair in my size, put them on...um no way. Doesn't work. Mt Fred Flintstone feet are putting up quite a resistance. Nack on the shelf they go. SIGH

The owner of my favourite shoe store convinced me to buy a pair of pointy, leather, stiletto boots. I can't wear them for a long time because they hurt after a while, but they do look dressy and sophisticated.

Those boots do get quite a reaction from men :smooth:

Uggh...I hate pointy toed shoes 'cause they make my feet look even bigger than they are (I'm 5'2 with size 8 feet).

I have the skinniest feet on the planet, if you looked at my feet you'd think they were feet of a skeleton. Those shoes KILL my feet. I tried to wear them once and my feet were bleeding all over and I had huge blisters. And I was only wearing them for a short amount of time...

I hate them. I think they are so ugly! So does DH so I never have to subject my feet to those nasty looking shoes!

I also like them. I have a pair of high black boots and they are surprisingly comfortable. Again, your toes dont actually go into the point. My foot is a 7 so I dont think they make them look exceptionally large.

I like the pointy toe shoes. Like others mentioned, the point usually starts AFTER your toe, so it's not like your toes are being squished into the point. The only problem I have with them is that since they are a little longer than the average shoe, I tend to have a little trouble judging the amount of space I need on stairs. I wear a size 7, so my feet don't look gigantic when I wear them. Those clunky, heavy shoes that were popular a few years back actually make my feet feel huge. I'm glad a more streamlined look is popular now.

I agree with Strawberry... Those horrible flat, clunky shoes make your feet look even bigger. I have big feet anyway (a 10!) and all I need is for my feet to look long AND fat.

I think that a lot of people try on pointy toed shoes at bad places (Payless, Rack Room, etc) because they don't want to pay alot for them. But if you get a good pair of shoes, the point starts beyond the toe and is comfortable, too.
