Points Usage Question??

We have 20 remaining points for 2009 (Use Year Feb) and we just bought 100 at BLT. My questions are (1) can we use those 100 points on another DVC resort before BLT actually opens in the fall of 2009? and (2) can we book with those 100 right now? and (3) can we borrow from 2010 and use/book with those now? (Our other home is SSR and we have 160, so I know at the very least I can use the 20 pts. from 09 and borrow the 160 from 2010- but I want to know if we have access to the other 200. Thanks!!

BLT points can not be used until the occupancy date of your unit which is probably 9/1/2009. Reservations for BLT are currently scheduled to begin on 3/1/2009 for stays beginning 9/1/2009.

Keep in mind the whole idea of being able to use points at a non-home resort, is the reciprical arrangements between resorts.

If someone wants to use BWV points for example at VWL, then that means they are not using those points at BWV which leaves units available for a VWL owner to stay at BWV. Basically a reciprical exchange of 'home' resorts.

But if you were allowed to use BLT points somewhere, there is no 'exchange' possible since BLT isn't open. In other words if you were to use your BLT points at VWL, it is not possible for a VWL owner to use their points at BLT.

You would basically be bringing 'new' points into the system without bringing in correspoinding villas represented by those points.

Thanks for the response. That was my understanding at the outset but my dvcmember homepage says otherwise, so I thought I'd ask.
