Points Question Rented vs Owned

Forgive me if this has been asked before but I cannot find an answer. I guess my search has narrowed it down well enough.

We are giving our Family points to be used later in the year (October 2005 @ VWL), but they will be shy approx 14 points.

My question is can they rent points and use them in conjection with the points tht we are letting them use?

I.e. 1 day @ VWL for a 1 bdr is 24 points. They will use 10 of our points plus 14 points reneted elsewhere.

Can this be done?

It depends on how reservations will be made.

If they are members and you are transferring your points into their account, they could also have points from another member transferred and make their own reservation.

If they are not members, you will have to make a reservation for them using your own points and another member could make needed reservations and you can ask MS to link those point reservations together for them. You could also find a member to transfer their points to you and you could make the entire reservation yourself.

There is no way to combine points from multiple members for a reservation without transferring the points into a single account. Otherwise, each member would have to make separate reservations of at least a day (If 14 points are needed for a single day, then another member can reserve that day and link everything together.) For a one day reservation requiring 24 points, all 24 will have to come from one account.

Yes you can do that. If you are the member, you can rent the points and have them transferred to your DVC account and then make the ressie. Not sure if you can apply 10 points from someone else to the same ressie, but I would think not.
