Points Needed!!!

I am at capacity in my current reservation. I need to book a studio at Old Key West. I have 50 points left in my use year but need 75 points to book. 24 points is the maximum purchase during the use year so I'm short 1 point. I don't know anything about the rent or transfer options. Basically, I need 25 points to book. Any suggestions as to the best way to get this done? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

You can borrow from next use year. If you don't want to borrow the full amount you are short, you can borrow some and purchase one time points of the others.

Unfortunately I have borrowed and banked everything that I can. My kids and I are doing the 14 day transatlantic on the Magic in Sept. The 50 points is all I have. Any other ideas? LOL!!!

See if you can book one night on cash and the rest on points.

Cash may be the way to go. If you are going to purchase 24 points from Member Services for $15 a point, that would be $360.

Depending on the night you want, time of year, etc, you may be able to ask Member Services to check for a Member Cash room at 25% discount.

Then you have no bother with renting and a flexible reservation.

It may be slightly cheaper to rent points. That means another member makes your reservation for you with their points. You do not have control of the reservation.

Transferring points again would involve contact with another member and setting up a time to get on the phone together with MS.

You can check out possible points for rent on the Rent/Trade board.

FYI: OKW studio in September is 76 points for a week - 10 -mon - thurs and 13 fri and sat.

A little funny they didn't mention that but there aren't always rooms available with the member discount. I'd still check back and inquire. A room booked on cash with MS could be linked to the part of the reservation that you book with points.

Transferring or renting points from another member are other options and you can look at the rent board to see if you see anything that would work. If you received a point transfer you would have control of the reservation and would have a seamless reservation. You just need to be certain that you get a point transfer that would be valid for the time you want to book. If you rented from another member for a couple of nights it still would be possible to link the reservation made with your points to the one made with theirs but it would require both you and the person you rent from to contact MS - probably in a 3 way call.
