Points for FW campsites

The points chart for FW 2008 came out very late so we were already set with a cash stay. Do you think they posted the points so late because they were reworking the cash prices for weekend premium prices? If so, do you think they will get the 2009 chart out in a more timely manor?

Well, the folks here can't help you if they don't know the answer to your question, and only DVC really has the answer to the question you've asked.

Since FW isn't part of DVC, the points required to use a campsite have to be re-negotiated each year. Perhaps the negotiations were delayed for some reason last year, and there's really no way to tell when they'll take place this year.

Plus there's that pesky $95 fee. I think about camping but probably will just book with AAA rates. We tent and have a pop-up. I'm thinking about flying in with tenting gear in a cooler season of the year but haven't put it together yet.

It's seem odd that so few have an opinion on this subject when so many times people express opinions that have nothing to do with the OP.

BTW, there is a rumor on the Camping board that the $95 fee will go away for FW.

I don't see any point chart for campsites anymore. Only for the cabins.

Did they do away with being able to use points to get regular campsites?

Of course with the $95 'booking' fee, even if using points, it's a no-win compared to just paying cash.

Hope this helps. We booked a trip for our friends in FW campsite at a preferred site for 4/26-5/3 of this year. It was 68 points for the stay and were NOT charged $95.00. I was told they do charge the fee for FW, no idea why but I was not going to argue.

We just booked a stay in Nov at FW for my inlaws in their MH. We did not use our points because the entire stay was less the $400 (campsite alone). It was just not worth using our points. If they do charge $95, then it really isn't worth it.

The cash value would have been $490.00. No extra fee's, and we used the points for them.

we wanted to stay over Christmas with points. I called at 11 months - no availability. we gave up and booked at SOG and SSR. That way we get 2 weeks.

I don't think there are ANY campsites left at Christmas time 2008.

I just got on the DVC member site and the points chart for FW is still there.
