points for cruises!

Now before i get the old it's a waste of points! I just priced a cruise and it would cost the four of us 13,500.00!! for a week long cruise after christmas! Or it would be 1453 points! But what would you do in this instance. I want a family verandah room!! leaving 12/26/09!


What additional fees do you pay for after they take your points, I'm assuming port fees, ground transfers, anything else? I did this several years ago during presidents week, and it was worth it, but I just can't remember!!

You would also pay gratuities.

I believe Port fees are included as well as taxes.

Transfers are extra and trip insurance is extra also.

That would be alot of points to rent out, so if you got em use em

There are worst things to do with your points, like not use them at all and lose them

thanks - yeah, i have been doing the math, and these prices are before airfare! uggh! it sounded like a good idea!

My other problem with using points (the first problem is poor return, but it seems like you have beat that!) is if you cancel, you will have a slew of points in holding. That cannot be used at a DVC resort (oh the humanity).
