Points expiring in June: solution

Yes! Also June UY, and this isn't just a matter of issues for already banked points. Our trip for late April was booked with current UY points, but we are passed the banking deadline. It's bad timing for us. If our UY was anything other than June or April, I would be able to bank these points.
When I called and rescheduled member services gave me up to July 31 to bank my 2019 points with Aug UY.

I would be very weary of that Information as it goes again everything they have said.

Unless you see it in writing on the member website, I’d treat it as misinformation
It was a supervisor I was talking to and have all their information and have called back to confirm with them. We weren’t sure if we were going to be able to go at rescheduled time so I called again but we have worked everything out.

Rules allow deposits into RCI up to 14 days before the points expire. (There are booking restrictions if the deposit isn't made at least 45 days before expiration). But I don't see how those deposits prevent future strain on the system. It still obligates DVC to deposit DVC resort nights into the RCI system. ( don't know if DVC has to deposit when the points go in, or when a match is accepted, though).

Does it obligate them to put WDW DVC points into the system? Or could they put Aulani, VB or HHI?

That is a huge change to allow some to bank up until the last minute considering they aren’t even letting people with April and June UY do it,

Glad it worked out for you.

Where are you finding the rules that allow deposits into RCI up to 14 days before the points expire, and the booking restrictions if the deposit is not made at least 45 days before expiration?
Do those also apply for banked points that are about to expire?

Under the plan a vacation tab on the DVC member site I see a dropdown for "How to Book RCI", and one for "Cancelation and Modification Guidelines" (where under the world collection tab, it details what happens to points if you cancel an RCI vacation at various days before your check in), but I cannot find anything about the deposit time rules.

At the bottom of the Booking RCI page it says:
"Members receive the full terms and conditions of this program, including applicable fees and restrictions, in the RCI Disclosure Guide. The terms and conditions have been specially agreed upon by Disney Vacation Club Management Corp. and RCI for obtaining resort accommodations for Disney Vacation Club Members. Please review them carefully before booking any of these options. Program terms and conditions are subject to change without notice."

However, I can not find the RCI Disclosure Guide anywhere on the member website.
Do you know where I can find the RCI Disclosure Guide?
Thanks for any further detail you can provide.

Deposit First Exchange Method
1. When Vacation Time, which has been submitted to DVC Member Services by a DVC Member, is deposited by DVCMC with RCI, all rights to the use of same for the week(s) deposited are immediately assigned to RCI. RCI may use that deposited Vacation Time to obtain a Confirmation, to make the Vacation Time available to other RCI Members, or to otherwise use or dispose of the Vacation Time, in its sole discretion. Once Vacation Time is deposited by DVCMC with RCI, the Vacation Time may not be withdrawn; and, therefore, once a DVC Member deposits Vacation Time, it is a final transaction. Reservation of Vacation Time by or on behalf of DVC Members is subject to availability.
2. Vacation Time must be deposited with DVC Member Services no more than 11 months (7 months ifthe DVC Member is depositing Vacation Time from an Originating Resort other than his or her Home Resort), before the commencement date of the deposited week. Deposits of Vacation Time received by DVC Member Services from 45 days and until 14 days before the commencement date of the Vacation Time being deposited also are accepted; provided, however, that such deposits can only be used for an exchange that will occur from 44 days and until 24 hours in advance of the desired Vacation Time.
3. An exchange may be requested for the same time period or for a time period that has a comparable exchange value as the Vacation Time deposited. The exchange request may be placed at the same time that the Vacation Time is deposited or at any time thereafter, but no later than the end of the second calendar year after the date of the deposited Vacation Time.
4. DVC Members may place a request for an RCI Exchange into an RCI Member Resort that is affiliated with RCI Weeks with travel dates of up to 24 months in advance of the check-in date. DVC Members may place a request for an RCI Exchange into RCI Points and The Registry Collection RCI Member Resorts for travel dates of up to 10 months in advance of the check-in date.

This might be a good time for people to take a minute and look at the RCI booking tab on the DVC site. You will see there are a number of resorts in Florida that you can use your points at. On the gulf side of Florida close to Tampa are 27 resorts that you can use your points at. On the Atlantic coast there are a handful in the Cocoa Beach area. There are 43 locations in Hawaii you can stay at.
The problem with the Gulf resorts are many times they aren't available.

Thanks CarolMN.
Reading #1 and #2, it seems I need to make a reservation for a given week and then deposit that week. The week I deposit must start 45 days after the deposit to avoid restrictions. However, most of the posts in this thread have indicated MS is telling members they can deposit points. Does anyone have experience with the actual process?

That was my initial thought as well. If a member was allowed to Re-bank the equivalent of a weeks worth of points, that member could book an extra DVC week in the future which would stain the system. However, if those points go into RCI then a non-member would effectively use those points via an RCI exchange for a DVC week in the future. which would also strain the system. Therefore, while earlier comments saying that if DVC allowed re-banking of points it would overload the system in the future may be true, it seems the exact same overload would occur if banked points are deposited into RCI.
I can see why DVC might not want to set a precedent by allowing re-banking. However, by not allowing re-banking it will not Impact the future overload if those points are deposited into RCI. (Again that was my initial thought)

However, after reading the RCI disclosure document and thinking about it further, that might not be the case. If DVC does deposit a specific week at a particular property into RCI, then if I cancel our June 8th trip and deposit those Aug UY points into RCI, DVC could put a reservation for the last week of July into RCI. (RCI members would have over 45 days to claim that exchange) That would not cause an overload in DVC in the future, since the RCI exchange into DVC would be in the same UY where the banked DVC points would have had to be used.
Not sure if there are any RCI implications to DVC if that week does not get taken in an RCI exchange.
