Points expiration question

If my points expire at the end of a use year on July 31st can I book a room July 31st Checking out Aug 1 or do the points expire with July 31st the last check out day?

I'm going to use logic here and will stand corrected if someone has different information. Since the seasons and the days of the week are based on the actual night you stay (and not the checkout day), you could stay July 31 using "last year's" points.
