Points being pulled from wrong Uy

Hi! I have a problem and was wondering if this is a known issue. I am trying to book a room for feb 22. My UY is Oct so I am using Oct 21 UY points to book. However, when I try to make the reservation it shows that it is pulling the 25 points I have left in my 2020 UY. Is this happening to anyone else? I’m not sure what I need to do to fix it.

The online booking tool can be a confusing mess. Does it actually pull those 2020 points or does it only appear to take those points before you finalize your reservation?

You can book a reservation using the 25 points sometime 31 or more days in the future inside your 2020 use year. Then book your 2022 reservation.

After you have that one set, cancel the reservation using the 2020 points.

Your banking window is end of this month. (I have October use year also.) Is there a reason you are holding onto the points in your 2020 use year?

Editing to say that the booking tool is trying to use the points in the best way. But obviously is not taking into account your future plans. I've had this happen before when I've 'saved' points to stalk a reservation. I just used the workaround I mentioned.
 
Thanks to both of you! I did as suggested and went through to the final confirmation page of booking and it did actually take the points from the right year!

About the 25 points that need to be banked by 5/31. We are leaving Saturday for Disney and I want to keep those points there just in case I want to modify my September trip based on how things go on our visit next week lol. I feel like the pandemic has completely taken away my ability to make decisions on future plans which has been rough on me because I’m very much a type A planner.

I'm having this problem in a way also - I have 2 different use years and 2 different member #s , I need to book from the use year with points and the system will not let me get to that contract - What am I doing wrong ?

Are you trying to book a non-home resort further than 7 months out?
Or Riviera with a resale contract that doesn't qualify to be used there?
Or could you give more detail on how or where it isn't letting you get to that contract?

When you go into Start your search for booking after you choose the dates .... it also asks you to choose your accommodations and then below that in small print it asks you to choose your contract .
Otherwise it automatically defaults to the same one . It seems like it goes to your first contract purchase and you are probably wanting to use the second one. Try this hopefully that is your problem .
I also notice this when I just pull up my dashboard.
It confuses me every time!

I agree that you're probably not selecting the Aug UY on the page when you search. Go under Plan a Vacation and down to book a vacation. You'll select the number of people and the dates and room type and right below that in the Resort section is a selection box to choose what membership you want to use.

Are you searching availability using your August UY? Only the contracts that are under the membership which was used in the search will appear for use. You need to ensure that the membership with the August UY is selected even before you start the search in order for those points to be used.

I have 4 UYs. The search system defaults to my oldest membership unless I change it.

Are you searching through the top link vs. The bottom?

This is where I start. And then when you choose dates on the calendar, under it, will be the spot to toggle. Make sure it changes before you hit Check Availability.

YES !! Thank you so much, I wasn't sure where to start from - the screen shot was perfect !! Now I can try to book my nights needed without waiting for the waitlist to come!!!:flower1:
